Aside from the eyelashes on the dog on the cover, I like the story. Kids can identify with both yippy dogs and danger.
[Not only does Marley have long eyelashes, he has a smiley bark, a narrow neck and a round head, giving it a human expression. Animals should look like animals, not like humans.]

Marley is a misunderstood puppy who wants to let his family know about everything by barking at it. He doesn't understand why he keeps getting in trouble for barking and almost stops doing it until he sees baby Louie crawling away. He notifies the family and ends up a hero for barking. This book is a leveled reading book for assistance with progressing students to higher levels.
Bookaday #70. Ugh, illustrations are awful in this book. Only thing saving it from a single star is the easy to read story. My kindergartners love easy readers but there are better ones than this.
This book was about a dog who wanted attention but eventually he wanted to save the baby. I liked the book because it was fine. My favourite character was the dog because he saved the baby.mi would recommend the book maybe...I don't see why not and I don't see why. It was really just an okay book.
