I thought the author did a great job of collecting a wide variety of photographs that showcased the city as a whole throughout these decades. It is nice to see that she focused on different areas, including the growth of UAB, that are often overlooked.

This book is about how Birmingham used to look in the 50s, 60,and 70s. Cars was different, food cost about 10cents or 20cents.

Barton provides a collection of photographs that shows more than the growth of a city. These photographs provides an insightful look at the Magic City and it's people.
