Rate this book
It’s spring 1929 in Kuna, Idaho, and Elizabeth graduates from high school. Her fondest dream seems to be coming true when she enters college in the fall. But then the stock market crashes, and the Great Depression engulfs the nation

Overnight, Elizabeth’s anxiety over tuition payments is superseded by fear that her parents will lose the farm. Yet with the courage and strength of her mother, Kathryn, Elizabeth proves God’s faithfulness through the Depression years—and finds the love of her life—in a moving story of faith, honor and steadfastness.

Hard-working Elizabeth has one goal in life—to go to college and become a teacher. But it is 1929 in Kuna, Idaho, and the small family farm doesn’t produce enough to send both Elizabeth and her twin brother to college. Elizabeth is devastated when the stock market crashes and the Great Depression engulfs the nation. Can even Elizabeth's faith and energy save their family farm?

A nice continuation of this family saga. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first book though, but still a good read. A mixture of tragedy, sorrow, loss but also love, happiness, joy and full of Christian truths. Now onto the 3rd and final book of the series. I read this via KU.

I liked this book even more than the first one, mostly because I could relate to the character and her struggles more. It's a good 50/50 blend of romance and struggles of the Great Depression. I liked it a lot.
