This book is a children's book. It is filled with a lot of nice, colorful, festive illustrations. The Veggie Tales are spending time at the Yuletide Ice Cube Fair, enjoying all of the festivities and having a great time together. Several of them partake in a fun Ice Cube Carving contest and they each come up with some really nice sculptures. The one who ends up winning is the one you might least suspect.
My family and I look forward to the Christmas season every year. We love Christmas music, decorations, watching Christmas t.v. specials, spending time with family, having a nice Christmas dinner, and of course, reading Christmas stories together.
I think that this book is really cute. My son read it all rather quickly the first night, but kept talking about it afterward. After that, he has read it several times and will probably read it several more times. He loves the story and all of the pictures of the fun and kid friendly characters. He says his favorite part is when the Veggies are carving the ice sculptures.
A lesson can definitely be learned from the book for both kids and adults as well--"it's not what's biggest that matters most on the Christmas. It's Jesus" (like it says in synopsis)
I love that it teaches this because I agree! Christmas is not about big extravagant gifts or about spending a ton of money, or who gets what. It's about spending time with family, showing love, and remembering that Jesus loves each and every one of us.
This book is perfect for kids 8 and younger and highly recommend. It should also be a very easy to read book for young beginner readers.

I absolutely adored this story and I plan on reading it to my preschoolers Sunday school class at our Christmas party. A sweet story with the best reminder of all on who is the reason for the season. May we never forget the price He paid and His gift to us! If you would like to learn more, you can at this link. Written with 4-8 year olds in mind, this book has the perfect story to bring in the holiday. My boys enjoyed it as I read aloud and they sipped hot chocolate. This one is a keeper!

Welcome to the Yuletide Ice Cube Fair! Where everyone can skate on ponds of root beer, where you can "slip and slide" on burlap sacks, and you can sculpt an ice block into what Christmas means to you. What would you carve?
Not only will these color snapping illustrations bring forth the sparkle of the season, but the moments of discussing and judging the ice sculptures is such fun. Our little miss liked the cake and the French Peas design. We delighted in the littlest entry and imagined the lights glowing through the glorious trumpets.
Sharing in the true joy of the season, we anticipate this little book will bring precious memories in continued reading. We are both excited about sharing this tale with all the cousins. I can't wait for their own designs as they create Christmas ice sculpture pictures for their parents!

Mayor Bob is holding an ice carving contest and all the veggies are competing. Each veggie is asked to carve what Christmas means to them. Some of them choose to carve elaborate Christmas dinners, Elves, Trees or Gifts but Junior carves the smallest but most meaningful ice sculpture of them all.
This book will remind children that Christ is the reason we celebrate and that he is the most important part of our Holiday season.

Usually the VeggieTales begin with a Bible verse, but this one begins and ends with one. It is a story of the Yuletide Ice Cube Fair and Mayor Bob’s ice carving contest. It is a wonderful story with the message that Christmas isn’t about the big, the bright or the new. The story brings the true meaning of Christmas and ends with the Bible verse Luke 2:10-12. The illustrations by Ron Eddy and Robert Vann are beautiful and colorful with that icy feel of winter.
This book is appealing to a wide age range. It is recommended for 4-8 years or early readers, but I would extend that to include reading to 2 and 3 year old children. I received this book from the BookLook blogger program in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first Veggie Tales book I have read, but I have seen many of the movies. This book is fun for children who already love Veggie Tales or need a fun Christmas book. The pictures are colorful and this book is easy for them to understand. All the veggies compete in an ice carving contest. Everyone does something different on what they think is important during Christmas. This book is relevant because all we hear about during the holidays is gifts and food and pretty selfish things. This book reminds kids to remember Jesus is why we celebrate.

What does Christmas mean to the Veggie Tale bunch? This story explores that very thought. A cute story written in rhyme, you will enjoy finding out who knows the real meaning of Christmas. I enjoyed this little book very much and am sure my nephew will enjoy reading it also. A great story with a great message. Don't get lost in the busyness of the season. Always remember the real reason for Christmas. 4.5 stars

Little ears need a special way to understand Bible implications. Veggie Tales and ZonderKidz make learning fun with Author Karen Poth in "Yuletide Ice Cube Fair." The writer takes our toddlers (ages 2-4) on a magical journey to discover the true meaning of Christmas. In their perfect way the story is not too long to lose little one's attention and is exploding with plenty of bright illustrations. A Yuletide Ice Cube Fair is a wonderfully simple book that children 3-6 years old would love to read. With classic VeggieTales flair, it tells how "Christmas time means Jesus". We also have an ice carving competition in our area and we have read this book before going to see the real ice carving.
