Paige Sanders, a shy Nebraska girl, is stunned when her grandmother sends her photograph to the Ford modeling agency and the agency asks her to come to New York to try out as a model. Original.
This short read is quite a sweet book about a girl who thinks that when she gets accepted as a model for teen girls' clothing in New York, that her life must change accordingly and she must be more sophisticated.
The mumsy type lady who is going to look after all the girls is reassuring for any mothers reading this book, and nobody as much as looks at the pretty girls in the dressing room. So they are free to get on with learning how tedious it is to smile for the camera all day, wearing ski wear on the roof of a building to catch blue sky - in summer.
When the girls are off-duty they relax in different ways and our heroine bumps into a nice lad in the library... he asks her for a meal, ordering a burger and she thinks she'd better order angelhair pasta, because it sounds sophisticated. Is she in danger of driving away this decent young lad? Will she decide she's making mistakes?
Younger teen girls will enjoy this read. There's no scandal but they could learn a lot.
This book teaches a valuable lesson. Its basically about Ford, which is the world's number one modeling agency. Every year they look for girls that can be the world's next supermodel. This year Paige (the main character) is stunned when she finds out her graandmother sent her photos to ford. They now want her to live and model in new york along with five other girls. While there she met a guy named jordan who liked her alot the first time he met her. after seeing each other a couple times paige begins to try to be someone she's not. in the end she learned that it is highly importan to be yourself.
