This short read is quite a sweet book about a girl who thinks that when she gets accepted as a model for teen girls' clothing in New York, that her life must change accordingly and she must be more sophisticated.
The mumsy type lady who is going to look after all the girls is reassuring for any mothers reading this book, and nobody as much as looks at the pretty girls in the dressing room. So they are free to get on with learning how tedious it is to smile for the camera all day, wearing ski wear on the roof of a building to catch blue sky - in summer.
When the girls are off-duty they relax in different ways and our heroine bumps into a nice lad in the library... he asks her for a meal, ordering a burger and she thinks she'd better order angelhair pasta, because it sounds sophisticated. Is she in danger of driving away this decent young lad? Will she decide she's making mistakes?
Younger teen girls will enjoy this read. There's no scandal but they could learn a lot.
