I really enjoyed this book to supplement our first year lectures in physiology in veterinary school. The other physiology book that we used a lot of was Guyton and Hall, and though a very good book it was far too detailed to be of much use to me for my time constraints. I felt this text set things out plainly and allowed me to get a good solid general grasp of the concepts so I could build on them in a medical context in later years. I know many of my classmates wanted something more detailed than an overview, but it fit my learning style well. Thumbs up to Cunningham. I own the fourth edition.
