Wonderful book for your 3rd level reader, or even younger! My 1st grader loved it and wanted to know more about the topic. Sometimes I pick out these historical books and make him pick one and it's become a game. He loves them and always wants to learn more if the book is good. This one did the trick. There was just enough information to keep him interested but not enough to bore him. Written well and the pictures were nice too.

Quite sad

When I read this book, learned about a chief who was killed. He hunted well, people liked him (except those that killed him). He was killed because he wouldn't be on the army's side with the Indians who left his tribe.
I loved reading about Sitting Bull.
