Honestly, this book would generally rate three stars from me, maybe even four stars for the fun Vulture vs. Spider-Man in the snow outing or the story where Aunt May talks to Peter about his life as Spider-Man, now that she knows the truth.

This is the only Peter Parker, Spider-Man volume I've read so far and I was somewhat surprised by it's tone.
This comic book series has less action, fun and continuity then other Spider-Man books, but it offers and interesting look at Peter Parker's psyche and relationship with aunt May (his only living relative).
I am not a big fan of the art in this collection, but it is good enough.
Overall, an interesting read even though it wasn't what I expected or wanted it to be.

Totally vintage Spider-Man. The stories here give you the essence of everything I loved about these books and this character as a kid--the wisecracks, the overlapping of superhero and real life. This is a good one to give to people who have never read Spider-Man, but want to.

Generally, a strong and intellectual run of Spider-Man, with a few particularly strong bits: the start of the Indian adventure (“The Big Question”) and Peter’s talk with Aunt May.
