Engaging and irreverent, much like the John Grundy programmes I used to enjoy on Tyne Tees TV. At 220 pages on northern architecture, this is more of an overview than a book for the aficionado, but for a casual non-expert reader such as myself, it's ideal and lot of fun with it.
