Life at Tall Oaks is great for Allie, but she's watching her friends Melanie and Kevin struggle with Jinx, the talented Thoroughbred colt they want to run in the Kentucky Derby.

Yet another amazing book in the Thoroughbred Series.

This would of got three stars, but the fourth was just because I like Jinx. He's just a sensitive how doesn't do well with stress. Also that star was because of the other horses. (I love all the horses so they deserved a star all of their own!) I didn't like this story as much as the others because unlike Allie I would of just told Melanie and Kevin off for first, giving up and second, for not paying enough attention to the visible problem. But I guess I understand why she was worried about telling them, that they'd be mad or something. She is still newish to the place and shy. I loved that Cindy and Ben are getting married. I think they are good together. Since they live on the same farm and have past romance, I was expecting that. And Samantha had her babies! Lucas and Leah Nelson. Ah, beautiful! So excited for the last book!! (It'll be better, I'm positive)

It sucked. Sucks even more since you never find out anything more about Jinx, Star or anyone else before the series wrapped up in the next book.

I usually go off on a major rant about how incredibly bad the Thoroughbred books were after book 11, but this one isn't worth the effort.

Fuck you, Mary Newhall Anderson, and a double fuck you to HarperCollins.

The ugliest cover in the whole series, and boy, is that a high bar to clear!

Jinx was already terrible, and clearly not worth the trouble they wanted to put into him. Geld geld geld!
