This is a great story about a family coming to grips with the fall of socialism in the Czech Republic. A young man has been disabled from childhood. He's unable to communicate but listens to everything that goes on around him. Because he can't tell tales, much is related in his presence that maybe wouldn't be otherwise. A silent observer, he watches as his family's secrets unfold, one after another.
