This book is one of my favorites because all the combinations are not in neutral colors. I love how the author gives you eight colors in one of five nature-inspired palette and then has pages of photos using variations in the palette. I love color and I think it reflects the energy and inspiration of a person. Neutral colors make the statement that life is boring and black says to me that life is dark and hopeless. The colorless colors should be used in conjunction with a colorful palette to enhance a detail or emphasize a line. The author does have a neutral nature-inspired palette called slate and stone but it does not have black or white instead it uses alabaster and charcoal at the two extremes with sandstone, marble, clay, terra-cotta, granite and slate as intermediate colors.
