Unsure of how to face her future as a single mother, Dylan reverts back to the only thing she knows to comfort her pain--shopping! This book brought out every emotion in me possible. I was ready to fight Miliana, Ashton and Angel. Keisha Ervin did her thing with this book. She definitely kept me on my toes with this page turning book. I'm happy for Dylan and Angel in the end.

Genre Urban Lit/Romance

Dylan is now three months preggers, working a 9to5 and showing she has some good business sense in book 2 of Material Girl.

I love how Keisha Ervin gave us more Billie and Tee Tee in this book. We get to delve into their lives a little to see what drama they have goin on. In book 2 Dylan has to tell Angel she is pregnant the problem is the new lady in his life ain't having any of it. She wants Angel all to herself and will do just about anything to keep it that way. So many things occur and this book it is a pager-turner. I f you have read the first book this is a must read.

My Thoughts
Ok so Dylan made a nice comeback altho she has to go through some more growing pains she got her HEA and that's all that matters.
The Plotline was alot better than the first imo. It was very eventful and filled with some crazy twist. As usual Candy and Tee Tee had me gasping for air they were soooo funny!!!! And Billie oh i really enjoyed her Storyline! Good job Ms. Ervin!!:)

My Ratings
Characters- Lovable
Writing Style- Enjoyable and Witty
Plot/Storyline- Very Good
Overall- An Enjoyable Read

I decided to read this book out of sheer curiosity about what happened with characters. After the fake a** Sex and the City con job of Material Girl 1, I was already leery about the storyline so again I borrowed the book from my library. The back and forth with Angel and Dylan all the way to the end got really annoying. I read on a another review that there is to be a part 3 which makes the abrupt ending of this story all the more wack! I can still tell the author is heavily influenced by what she watches on TV because the book still had that "been done before" feel to it. Overall, she can come on with a part 3 because I will be borrowing that one too.

Thoughts while reading:

Not they coming for Dylan 😂😂

Let that girl eat at the city diner and shop at Walmart in peace.

Tee Tee always in something 😂😂

How she gonna blurt it out? 👩🏾‍🍼

Now that said she was a hoe!! 😂😂

Not a Coogi sweather and matching pants.

Not his new bitch (Milania) erased the message about Dylan being married.

Not Candy is an anti-mother 😂

Ok Tee Tee about to have a baby with his husband 🫶🏾🫶🏾

Not we lift each other like a Victoria secret model.

Milani is the snake .. trifling ass.

Billy kids are crazy 😂😂😂😂

Milania came through doing the most. Dylan wasn’t haven’t it.

Oh shit Billy gotta water your own garden boo. Maybe that’s what happened with Kane? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Not Dylan a lil airhead 😂😂 apostrophe.. esp 😂😂

Tee Tee telling the truth.. you better get on your man Billy. And he was tryna help but I think he should have told her after about turning Angel away.

Ok Billy open your eyes.. go get your husband.

Milania showing her true colors… see Angel.

A Tee Tee terrible talking about come get Dora the explorer..

Oh Billy trippin… now she about to lose her man?

Candy where is the money?

Yes Billy get your man.

Here go State and Ashton again? And Ashton back on her shit.

Ashton and Milania togetherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre? 😮😮😮😮😮😮

Awww they named him Mason…

Nah that dude Cruz ain’t it.. idc what he say.. don’t do it 😂 …..🗣️ANGEL

Oh shit she did it.. gave him that Mac..

Welp Angel back… let’s see how this play out…. I mean Angel you fumbled sooooooooo.. still rooting for you though.

Nooooooooo I’m not here for Cruz. Team Angel!! 😇 😂😂

You about to lose your job.. you about to lose your job, I said you about to lose your job Cruz 😂😂

Oh Dylan back on top and I know that bitch Milania and Ashton hot!

Cruz about to lose his girl, Cruz about to lose his girl I said Cruz about to lose his girl!! I mean at least he didn’t smash ole girl, but definitely did a bit much in that club. But still why not tell her about your job situation.

I mean.. Cruz could have been something buttt he needed a bit more time to grow. Still team Angel 😂

Cruz is not playing, he said I gotta have Dylan….wifeeeeeee?????????

Angel said married… oh hell no, let me pull up!!!

Nooooo Dylan not cheating again… and Angel you should know better.

Dylan getting on my nerves againnnnnnnn. Stop cheating then going in like nothing happened girl.

While I feel like Angel about show up at this wedding??

Nope the rehearsal dinner!

Yea Dylan gonna flake or Angel gonna show up at this wedding, I just know it.

Not she just rolled so she can get to Angel.

I love a good love story.

This was a really good read. The character were funny, loving, and very real. My emotions felt as if they were on a rollercoaster ride. Everything that happened with these characters was very close to things that could happen in real life. I'm crazy about Angel and Dylan. Great job and story well told. I look forward to more reads by this author.

I enjoyed this book. I couldn’t put it down because I wanted to know if Dylan and Angel were ever going to get back together. I was happy with the ending and glad to see Dylan finding love and thriving on her own. It was nice to read more about the other characters as well. Can’t wait to see what’s in the next book.

I don't know who the Material Girl was in this novel: Dylan or Milania. It says that Angel was a heavyweight champion in the introduction. He never trained or fought in this story. Tee Tee was an entertaining character. Billie and Know had lingering issues. There were so many fashion items described that I think it took up 50 pages. The ending was like Best Man. This was a weak story.

About a decade or so ago I'd bought this sequel based off of my interest in Book 1. It was okay. I wish Ms. Ervin would resume writing her own books & refrain from promoting other authors' work who wouldn't do the same for her if they were in the same predicament...not wildin' just speaking a certain kind of honest truth from MY P.O.V.!

It was cool. Disappointed she cheated again. She got her HEA in such a Lifetime movie-esque way. Good for her. Hope Billie and her man work out their issues.

‘TIME FOR YOU TO RAISE UP…GET UP, STAND UP, RAISE UP…’

Dylan Monroe is pregnant, working, and still single… although she longs to be in the arms of her baby daddy and the love of her life. Angel Carter has moved on with Vickie’s Secrets model, Milania Fairchild and no matter how his hearts aches for Dylan…no matter how good a sexual distraction Milania proves to be… his mind won’t allow him to forgive Dylan’s past transgression and follow his heart that will lead him back into her arms. Billie has taken a step back from her brother and best friends’ relationship, because she has challenges of her very own. Tee-Tee is swagging with his fellow lover while trying to build utopia by completing his family.

Material Girl 2 is the anticipated sequel to the effervescent quirky fashionista, Dylan Monroe, a fallen heiress with a pretty face albeit a clueless air head. Dylan has lost her man and her money, will she be able to rise up and take her rightful place in society again? Or will the scandals that she’s always wallowed in pull her to the bottom? Keisha continues to paint a vivid portrait of Dylan and her crew in a very realistic light. The sequel is outlined with love, labels, friendship, enemies, hope, reconciliation, forgiveness, new beginnings as well as maturity, and self discovery as they all fearlessly face their daily familial trials and tribulations. Some of the humorous scenes seemed forced and were mildly annoying to me. There were some predictable parts but Keisha’s growth is evident as she was able to deliver a good read. Material Girl #1 was the better read for me, but this was a decent follow up. 3.88***

I loved it!!!
Dylan and Angel!!!
Loved how Dylan matured in this sequel.
Yes she had her "blonde" moments but overall she showed just how strong she could be. I loved the development of her character.
She was more conscientous and she was determined to get through anything life threw at her.
Also appreciated the fact that her relationship with Angel wasnt automatically fixed even when he broke off his engagement with his girlfriend. She had to let him go because even though he had feelings for her, he still struggled with forgiving her and they both had to give each other space.
Wasnt really feeling Javier first cuz he came off as an ass but he redeemed himself.
Loved the part where Angel starts to realize that Dylan is it for him. On one hand he wanted her to be happy but when she got engaged, he realized he had to either take a piss or get off the pot because someone else was ready to step up. And when he said, You are my baby, I literally swooned, it was like awwwww. Angel. that wedding scene at the end was just whew, what an ending, I was like OMG is she really gonna marry Javier but o well I have spoken enoigh, Get the book!!!
the secondary characters are up to their same tricks but get insight into their relationship. Billie, learning to respect her new marriage and Tee-Tee's boo giving him the respect he wanted and realizing it doesnt matter what anyone else says, its you and me against the world~

Nothing I expected to happen in this book did. I was literally on the edge of my seat trying to read quickly to see what was going to become of Dylan's life. Her quadrangle with State, Angel, & Cruz was crazy. I was hoping to read about State more. Yes he was surely a jerk off, but I can't help but to love to hate him. Angel I definitely wanted to hit in the head a few times. I seriously couldn't figure out what was going through his head most of the time. He really royally screwed things up with Dylan. Cruz...not much to say about him, but his ending was a bit shocking. I'll be patiently awaiting part 3 to make an appearance.

This was a good sequel to the first. I loved the first book although it wasn't what I was expecting from Ms. Irvin. This book was good but could've been great but the ending sucked! I wanted more Dylan and Angel since that's what made me fall in love with the first one. Billie and TeeTee are great supporting characters and I would love to get deeper into those character... maybe like a branch out novel or something.

I can't recall when I read a book in less than 24 hours. The book really had me longing for that "True Love Story" of my own. Keisha Ervin has done it again. I will credit her for the one author that has put LOVE back in the Black, African American, Urban communities. I so ready for whatever and whenever she publishes another book.

I was very pleased with Material Girl 2. Keisha Ervin did a great job with continuing this story. I enjoyed seeing Dylan's growth as a woman and as a mother. I also appreciated how she gives us a look into Billie's life and her struggle with bringing old baggage into her new relationship. Cant wait to see what happens next.

I loved this book!!! I hope she writes a 3rd book. I enjoyed the characters and the whole story of both books. The 2nd book picked right up where the 1st one left off. I don't know who edited the book but there were grammer and spelling errors in this book. Keisha is a good writer.
