“Don’t worry, Annie, it’ll be fun.”

I loved it!

A 5-star story again in the Out of Uniform series. Ryan is mischievously lovely, Annabelle seems a little bit naïve, but her suitability to Ryan quickly comes to light. I really appreciated her sharp tongue, sarcasm, perceptiveness, and rationality.

The story is hilarious, given a laugh-out-loud situation: Ryan sneaks in Annabelle’s bed, expecting his casual sex partner there, Christina, but finds Annabelle and her list of secret sexual fantasies to prove her ex-boyfriend that she is not that vanilla. Ryan, as a perfect gentleman, can’t leave a damsel in distress, and is determined to help her make each item on the list into reality.
“What are you, five? Give it back. That’s personal property,” she snapped.
Rolling his eyes, he obligingly handed her the list, which got soaked the second her wet hand clutched it. The ink began to smear, and for some asinine reason, she fanned the sheet to stop the smearing. What was the matter with her? A total stranger had just become privy to all her secret fantasies and she was trying to preserve the words? She ought to be burning the damn thing.
“Don’t worry,” Ryan said graciously. “I memorized it.”

Meeting Annabelle’s family is a plus and an interesting turn to the story. I was really glad to see how easily Annabelle attuned to Ryan, and saw through his behavior.

Enjoyable, funny, steamy story, you’ll love it!
Above the couch was an Angelina Jolie calendar, flipped open to the October snapshot showing Angie stretched across a recliner. It was the typical bachelor pad, but Ryan didn’t care. He was, after all, a bachelor.
“Do you have a stripper pole in the bedroom?” Annabelle asked dryly.
“If I did, would you do a sexy dance for me?”

Navy SEAL Ryan Evans and Annabelle Holmes

Annabelle was supposed to marry Bryce since they were children. Unfortunately Bryce dumped her because, according to him, she is a prude. Annabelle writes all her sexual fantasies to prove him wrong. The list ends up in the hands of Ryan who really likes what he reads. Ryan convinces Annabelle to try the list with him.
She agrees.
He falls in love with her. She falls in love with him. Her filthy rich parents object and try to get rid off Ryan. Lots of drama there.

Overall a great addition to the series. Ryan used to be series' manwore together with his flatmate. Now, it is time to settle down to one girl.
Hot and funny story!

For fans who can't get enough of Suzanne Brockmann or Marliss Melton's Navy SEALs and are looking for something to fill the gap until their next release, you might want to give Elle Kennedy's Navy SEAL Team Fifteen a try. The Out Of Uniform series is a group of short stories in ebook form (I wish they'd come out in a print anthology one day), and they're all fine stories, filled with plenty of steam and very likable, believable characters.

Heat Of The Night is the story of charming 'playboy' Ryan Evans. Ryan and his SEAL teammate and best friend Matt O'Connor share a San Diego condo--and sometimes their women). Their upstairs neighbor Christina has entertained the two studs from time to time. As the story begins, Ryan and the team are on leave for three weeks, and Ryan is feeling kind of down because he's just learned that the woman he's still carrying a torch for (Jane, from Heat it Up), is pregnant with her fiancee's baby. Looks like it truly isn't meant to be for Jane and Ryan. He decides that maybe Christina can make him feel better tonight, so he heads on up to her apartment, and lets himself in with his key. As he slips into bed besides the sleeping Christina, something feels a little off. The woman who he's cozying up to has long wavy hair, a curvy body, and smells deliciously like orange blossoms...wait a minute...this isn't Christina!

Twenty-five-year-old event planner Annabelle Holmes is stunned by her fiancee's desire to spend some time apart. Her long-time boyfriend Bryce's desire to "walk on the wild side" (without her) has left her puzzled. Hasn't she tried to get him to loosen up and experiment with their sex life? She's no prude--he is! Annabelle decides to take the time away from Bryce to examine her feelings for him. She knows he'll probably try to get back with her--but does she want him back? Her rich, snobby parents expect a marriage between the couple..but are they meant to be? The offer to leave San Francisco and spend some time at her friend Christina's (who is out of town for a month) apartment in San Diego is just the thing she needs. Before Annabelle settles into (Christina's) bed for the night, she makes a list of all her sexual fantasies--things that she's "up for"--and intends to present it to Bryce. When she wakes up to find a sexy stranger cozying up to her...she's terrified!

After Annabelle and Ryan each get over their shocks, they realize that they're attracted to each other. Annabelle doesn't want to cheat on Bryce (no matter how tempted she is), until she gets word that Bryce has been seen with another woman. Now all bets are off, and she heads to Ryan's place. He found her list--and offers to help her "cross out all those dirty items on your dirty list". Will Annabelle allow him?

Plenty hot story here. "Annie" (as Ryan calls her) has a list of ten fantasies, and she and Ryan waste no time ticking them off, one by one. Their love scenes were super steamy, and one even included Ryan's roommate (although not in a menagé). They both started off the relationship as thinking it was just a 3 week sexual interlude, but the more time they spent together, the more they learned about each other, and the deeper their feelings grew. Annie really captured Ryan's heart-- he loved her sarcasm and her biting remarks, and the fact that she didn't fall all over him because he's a SEAL. And for Annie, not only was Ryan the 'hottest guy she ever met', but he was protective, funny, and made her feel beautiful and cherished. I thought they made a great couple, even though they had wildly different backgrounds. As expected, the course of true love didn't run smoothly for these two, and there was the inevitable parting...but I enjoyed how they got back together and believed they'd worked out their problems and were on the way to a HEA.

I always enjoy Elle Kennedy's short stories. She manages to find a way to give you a good story with just enough background on the characters in order to understand them, and gives you a heaping dose of super sexy interludes. I think there's only one more SEAL to write about in this series--that would be southern charmer Matt O'Connor--and I can't wait to see who captures his heart! 4 stars

I was ready to class this as a LOVVIT worthy book. I enjoyed Ryan and Annabelle very much. Until Matt came into the picture and they got into some threesome tumble.

I'm a bit old fashioned and menage is a turn off for me, don't hate me.

this one started funny and hawt with sexy banter and with an ALPHA Seal on a move to win over a girl...but he's a manwhore and she's trying to prove she's opened to ideas, and to her wild side...by checking off the things from a list "have I never"
and then again, a threesome happens just so the alpha can show her that she knows how to have fun...right

and then well, things go pretty awkward when she brings him to her rich and snobish family, and our Seal gets "scared" off by her rich asshole of a father...and then well, he says some mean things to the girl he actually loves, cause well, he feels he's out of her league...really?!

c'mon, you are a fuckin seal, man...

what the fuck?!

*sigh*

I think this was my favorite of all the series. It starts out with the hero Ryan sneaking into his neighbors apartment to have mutual casual sex with the girl who lives there and after climbing into bed with her, he realizes that the girl in the bed is not who he thinks she is. In fact, the girl, Annabelle is surprised and pissed and ready to kick the ass of this horn dog stranger. I gotta tell you I howled at these two and their antics. Ryan is the epitome of a horn dog and Annabelle isn't about to take any of his crap. They are the perfect pair.
The only thing I had a problem with however was at the end Ryan said some pretty mean things and although I understood why he would be insecure, I also thought Annabelle was the more mature one.
Holy cow the sex in this story was 5 alarm and that boy has some stamina.

Just did a re-read and loved Ryan all over again.

I've been reading the most heinously hot sex scenes for almost 36 hours straight, and there's no end in sight!

This was a short installment of the Out of Uniform series, but the story, as always, wasn't lacking in the least. It had feel-good emotions, raunchy sex with a military man (or 2 but who's counting), and great love. I'm still a bit confused how a book this short still managed to make my heart poop its pants... but I've decided not to read too much into that. Kennedy is basically a goddess. I've submitted almost completely to her will.

Ryan is a baby-face angel and I want to squeeze the crap out of him. He's sweet, alpha, and so damn lovable. Annabelle might be my favorite heroine out of the bunch... maybe? I DON'T KNOW. There's so many likable characters in this series, my mind is jello. They're a part of my actual life now. There's no escape.

Thanks for asking! Because I've never been more satisfied in my entire life.

I'm scampering back to my smut-den. Ta-ta!

Till next time cuties ;)!

It was definitely a cute read with a few steamy scenes. I’m only reading another one from this series for now but I’m loving all these different characters so I’ll definitely read more in the future!

A thoughtful expression flitted over his face. "I've never been called pushy before. Endearing, sure. Charismatic. Drop-dead gorgeous. A real-life Michelangelo's David. But never pushy."

Meet Navy SEAL Ryan Evans. Cocky, confident, a real ladies man. With all his other team mates happily coupled up, and his roommate Matt on his way to a family gathering in Tennessee, Ryan decides to shack up with his willing neighbor, Christina. Upon letting himself into her apartment and climbing into her bed, he notices a few differences about her. Too late. The woman screams, the lights come on and it's not Christina. Oops.

Annabelle's fiance, Bryce, just broke up with her...excuse me, he decided they should "take a break" and perhaps date other people for a while before getting back together. She is contemplating all the wild things she'd like to do with him when he comes back. So what does she do? She makes a list, of course. Only said list doesn't end up in Bryce's hands.

The next day Ryan finds her at the pool, and makes her a tempting offer. He's ready and willing to do all the things on her list. At first she declines, too caught up in her decorum from her upbringing. That is until a friend from home calls her and tells her that her (ex)fiance was spotted at a function with another woman. Fed up with herself and Bryce, she marches herself to Ryan's door and for the next three weeks, she's ticking off one item after another on her wishlist.

"I have an idea," he rasped.
"Oh really?"
Planting a kiss on her neck, he met her gaze and said, "Number four."
She coughed in surprise, instantly catching his drift. "At the hospital? No way."
"Come on, it'll be fun."

It's all fun and games until the unexpected happens.

I laughed my butt off through the story. I absolutely adored the humor coming from both laid back Ryan and the somewhat prim Annabelle. I found myself worrying the whole time that she might be a little bit delusional where Bryce was concerned. The fact that her impending marriage was practically arranged stunk to high heaven, and I wondered if she'd end up caving to her parent's wishes.

My heart broke for Ryan when he accompanied Annabelle back to her home and met her parents. I don't blame him for wanting to get the hell out of dodge no matter what. I figured it was up to her to figure things out and make him feel wanted for a change.

This story was sinfully delightful *cough* *Matt* *cough*

Yay, and part five is finished as well! Which means I will be finishing this series soon again! They’re just hella cute and I love the writing style as well. I’ve never really read other books by Elle Kennedy but I’m seriously considering it now!

Oh man, this is officially my favorite series of short stories! These books are so incredibly hot and I honestly can't wait for the last part! I assume its about Matt, it kinda has to be of course! Oh yeah, gonna read that one tomorrow!

This was ok but totally lost me when Annabelle just jumped into bed with Matt after just meeting him. I can see where the turn on is but it just felt dirty in a not fun way. Made me really dislike the characters just like with Garrett and Shelby. I could never imagine my S.O. being with someone else let alone watching it happen. Just makes me feel icky to think about.

I enjoyed this steamy novella. Although a simple lust at first sight story, it had enough action and synergy between hero and heroine to carry all the sex. Navy SEAL Ryan hopes to continue fling with his neighbor but when he slips into her bed one night he surprises a curvaceous Annabelle who gets ready to call the police.

While I enjoyed the couple in this novella and found their acting out her sexy "bucket list" super hot, there was way, way too much past protagonist and the couple's black moment was trite and cliched.

3.5

“So…” Jane eyed him expectantly. “Do I get a hug, or what?”
Ryan found himself experiencing a pang of longing as he pulled the petite redhead into his arms and held her close. Damn. Why hadn’t he met her first? It bothered him, this inappropriate yearning he felt for her.

He grinned. “Come on, you know you’re tempted.”
Her cheeks grew redder. “Tempted to do what?”
“To get back in bed. With me.” He cocked one brow. “And I can assure you, we’d have a really good time…”
She stared at him for a moment, then let out a high, melodic laugh. “Oh God. Do women actually fall for that stuff?”
He frowned. “Yes.”
“Yeah, well, I don’t.” She rested one hand on a curvy hip and nodded at the pile of clothes next to the bed. “Okay, time for you to go, Robert.”

“Oh yeah,” she agreed, still sounding breathless. “That was surprisingly good.”
“Surprisingly?” he echoed in mock anger.
“There was always the chance you were all talk and no action,” she replied sweetly. “Overconfident men usually suck in bed.”
“I do not suck in bed.”
“I know. Like I said, you’re surprisingly good.”

Discomfort rose up her chest. “My dad owns the largest shipping company in the country.” She sighed. “Last year for my mother’s birthday, he bought her an island in the Mediterranean.”
“Liar.”
“I wish I was lying.”
Ryan whistled softly. “Wow. So that rich, huh?”
“Yep.” She hesitated, then decided to tell him. “And for the sake of full disclosure here, you should know that my ex runs my dad’s company, and my parents still think we’re getting married.”

Goddamn

This was the best of them tbh

I read this series in a boxed set #1, which is books 1-7. 6 novellas and one book. I have mixed feelings about this series so I will separate my personal feelings from the actual review. These are super steamy light reads. Very little character development, insta love/lust, not much of a plot. The heroes are all Seals but no seal/military action in the stories. The most action in these books is between the sheets. The sex scenes are written well and if you are just after erotica, you might like these books. MMF in almost every couple.
Personally, I won’t be reading the rest of the series. I like my heroes more alpha instead of just man whores. Alphas don’t share their women and there is too much MMF action. Too casual for my taste. One Seal went to a dinner at the F leads parent’s house. The father made him feel less than and not worthy of his rich daughter. Instead of being an Alpha male, he hung his head an pouted! WTH! Sorry if you can make it through Seal training, he should have been arrogant and stood up for hisself. That is my biggest issue with these books. For Seals, I found the men lovable but weak.

2 stars - just ok. I'm really glad I started this series in the middle, with the first full-length novel because the novels worked a lot better for me than the novellas; the novellas all seemed sort of like the same story with different character names.

heat of the night (original #5) with ryan and annabelle, read as part of the hot and heavy collection (#4-6 out of uniform)

were all fine, but given that I literally just read them and I can't 100% recall the details of any of them because they're all blurring together, they basically all get 2 stars. EK's writing overall is good; these just got repetitive for me.

I loved the steamy side, and am less interested in the half baked plot with the main characters parents and ex.
I will say, I do not love the grand declarations of love at the end of all these stories. All of the 'Out of Uniform' series follow the same path and standard plot which means boy meets girl, either boy or girl doesn't want a relationship and within a week they both realise they love each other and are meant to be.
I could do without these half attempts at a full plot. None of us came for a plot, just the smut.

Start of this one ruined the last one - for that I had to significantly lower rating

She was a girl boss, career driven but this book started with her quiting her job... Not quiting her job for another job, but quiting it to be a mom. That was not the character she was in the previous book, goes completely against what she said, and I really hate seeing women lose their identity to motherhood.

I nearly marked this one DNF. Ryan was a bit too cocky for my taste. We know from the other novellas that he's super promiscuous. I'm not sure what Annabelle has that makes him decide she's it. They have a lot of sexual chemistry yes, but not much else is discussed about their time together. This relationship probably would have made more sense as a full length novel instead of a novella.
