A lonely kitten is adopted by the queen, with a little help from a young laundry maid named Meg. The kitten is later cursed to sleep until she "hears her happiest sound." This take on the Sleeping Beauty story has elements of fantasy, friendship, and cute kitties, so it will be an easy sell to a lot of new readers. Gr. K-2.

If the cover art doesn't make you want to pick this book up immediately, you are obviously not a cat person!

This version of Sleeping Beauty has the kitty being the one to fall asleep after touching water.

The only way she will awaken is when she hears the happiest sounds for cats to hear. What is that sound?

You and your little ones will have to read the book to find out!
