Recommends it for: Anyone interested in Classic historical fiction
This author's first book grabbed me more than I expected. The action starts almost immediately and the suspense only increases throughout. Occasionally the main characters were predictable and at other points I wanted to slap them, but they are for the most part believable and likable. (One of my favorite parts is how as you get farther in, even some of the seemingly villainous characters become more relatable.)
