The very first book where I saw and read about people who looked like me. Representation matters because this book has stuck with me (besides my book from Disney retelling fairytales). Based on a Japanese folktale, the artistry is bold and the story is silly. And I'm still seeking those multicolored tidbits of rice balls. Yum!
