Demonic by Sheri Whitefeather Contemporary Romance – Aug. 2nd, 2011 4 stars
This contemporary romance has danger and touch of the paranormal as it explores the sexual odyssey of three girlfriends.
Jane is a reporter bent on writing an expose about the Aeonian, a sex club that lets it’s patron dress up as supernatural beings. She persuades her friends Emily and Suzanne to accompany her on this adventure. They soon find themselves three handsome ‘demon’ men named, Marcus, Damien and Jake. But the men are not exactly human. They actually summoned a demon and killed it but there were repercussions. And now one of the men may be a real demon. But which woman is taking a demon to bed and what are the consequences…
As each woman explores their sexual fantasies, they grow more attached to each of their men. Each of the heroines has a very different personality, but because it features three couples, the story does not quite flow smoothly at times. Sometimes, the chapters feel like vignettes or little teasers as we get a glimpse of each couple. I found the most fascinating story to be Emily’s. Emily is more reserved than the rest of her girlfriends and her story had the most development while Jane and Marcus experiment with BDSM and Suzanne and Jake go a bit more ‘public.’ Overall, I would have liked it if the author had concentrated on one couple more heavily so it didn’t feel so choppy. But I did like the paranormal aspects of the story and how it explained the three men’s friendship. If you enjoy scorching romance this book is a quick read that will titillate you.
This book does have a paranormal theme that loosely pulls the novel together but feels more like a collection of erotic stories.

I have enjoyed Sheri Whitefeather's past erotica novels as there is always a subtle paranormal element which in her hands heightens the sensuality of the romance. With Demonica Ms Whitefeather has played with three familiar concepts; demons, sex clubs and three friends finding their true mates. A Triple Treat!
Three girlfriends - the daredevil, the homemaker and the prude, go to experience a sex club that is rumoured to be the lair of supernatural beings. They meet three guys at the lift going into the club who all profess to be demons. They pair up and as the girls experience their deepest sexual fantasies, they try to unravel which of the three guys is the real demon which would explain the strange things happening to them as their relationships unfold.
I found this an interesting read, but I found I was a little off-put by the sometimes simple characterizations of Jane, Suzanne and Emily. Ms Whitefeather has a deft and sparse writing style which makes for great eroticism in her able hands, but perhaps when there are so many characters jumping around it makes the story too dry and a little predictable. I bought the Kindle version and while I didn't absolutely thrill to this book, I'm interested in reading more in the series and have bought Feral to read as well. Shifters and Vampires were mentioned alongside Demons, so more paranormal delights to ensue.
All in all, a light and spicy paranormal read, but her previous books have been more 'keepers' than this one for me.
I really enjoyed this book (for the most part). One of the characters does something,in my opinion, that was horrible and selfish. Whitefeather had three stories going at the same time. Although that does short change each story in terms of character development, she still does a good a good job with doing all the couples justice. The concept of the supernatural club was exciting to me and Whitefeather leaves room to write more stories (Noah PLEASE! LOL)
I found this to be well written and entertaining. The sex scenes were hot. The characters were all well done with distinct personalities and conflicts. I liked the sex club. My favorites were Marcus and Jane, the dom & sub.
OK, it's a smut book, so cannot rate above 3 stars, that's just the way it is. But the story in this one is poorly written and even the "good" bits aren't very good. A rock has a better imagination.
