A Shimmer Between

Rate this book
★★★★★ "This book is filled to the brim with so many things I look for in a book. We have magic, touch her and die, fated mates, kingdoms, and lots of intriguing characters. The way this world felt was so magical, even with the dangers that lurk within the shimmers. It definitely scratches the ACOTAR itch." - Goodreads Reviewer

A princess forced to sacrifice herself for her people. An ancient enemy trapped by an enchantment. Will true love save them from their fates, or plunge them into war?A duty-bound heir...
Born into a life of duty, Liana's destiny has never been her own. Thanks to her useless father, her kingdom is in ruin. Now, to save her people from starvation, Liana is selling her hand to the highest bidder. She allows herself one last night of freedom on the eve of Beltane, unaware that the legends surrounding the holiday will forever change her destiny.

A legendary ruler...
Callum's past is haunted with regret, but he hopes his vision for the future will heal old wounds. When a human breaks through the enchantment isolating his kingdom, it's up to him to protect her from the fae who would have her blood. Even if helping a human could cost him everything.

A race against the clock...
Entangled in a passion beyond her wildest dreams, Liana is horrified when her night with Callum ends in bloodshed and she barely escapes with her life. But when she returns to the fae kingdom, Liana discovers Callum remembers nothing - not her, their kiss, or the attack that almost killed them. Together, they must break the enchantment imprisoning the fae before Callum's enemies can attack again. But the secrets he's keeping about what really caused his kingdom to vanish all those centuries ago could put both worlds at risk.

With every tick of the clock, the clash of past and present grows more dangerous, threatening to destroy both kingdoms. Will Liana and Callum overcome the past and unite their kingdoms once more, or will true love plunge them into war?

A Shimmer Between is the blush-inducing first book in the Lost Kingdom fantasy romance series. For fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses and From Blood and Ash, this tale of a stubborn princess and her haunted hero is a seductively romantic retelling of the Grimm brother's fairy tale, 12 Dancing Princesses.

This was an amazing read! A world "lost" and found... the world's collide. Love, hate fighting to find the truth and fix what the past caused. Liana has a struggle within herself to realize what truly matters and that it's more than her fighting for those she cares about. Then she finds her mate when falling into the fae kingdom, but when he doesn't remember her on returned visits she finds she has more to fight for and there's more hidden secrets to resolve. Highly recommend!

This was such a page turner! I couldn't get enough of Liana and Callum🖤 There's fated mates, hidden kingdoms, tyranny, betrayal, family bonds being mended, and justice being served!

Liana is the heir to Vanhal, a kingdom that has fallen into poverty. The only way to pay back her kingdoms debts is to marry a rich Lord whose family owns the largest trading company. Liana believes duty always comes first, and that love will always be the downfall of people.
Callum is the Fae prince of the Lost Kingdom, Stargard, which vanished over a century ago from Liana's world. With the veils magic weakening and cracks forming, Liana and her sister's slip through on the night of Beltane, a festival honoring the arrival of the Fae King, and learn dark secrets from both kingdoms that will be life or death for everyone.

I couldn't put A Shimmer Between down! I'm so excited to read more about this world, Liana & Callum, Penelope, Eima, Rose, Aingil, and Rainan! I'm so invested in everyone, even Tamryn, being the sweet, sassy, motherly figure she is🥰 I thought Stargard was beautiful and Liana is a total bad-ass. She never once stopped trying to do right by her people, and became the kick-ass Queen I knew she'd become! This is definitely going in "favorites-of-all-time"!!

I loved this! It was not the journey I expected for Liana and Callum, but so much better! Fated mates, touch her and I'll you, slow burn. It had basically everything I could have wanted. It ended with a lot of intensity, but also left me wanting to keep reading to find out what's happening next. I cannot wait until we eventually a sequel to their story!

I was lucky enough to read this book in it's ARC format, the following review is voluntary and a personal opinion of the story.

I finished this book in one sitting and I absolutely loved it. The whole idea of it had me on the edge of my seat. Love the characters and the world set up involved in this story! When I finished I was internally yelling at myself for not getting my friend to sign up for an ARC as well! Beautifully done book, can't wait to see what else this author has in store!!

This book. Holy Callum… this BOOK! I received this as an ARC read, and it only took 4 days because of 14hr days at work … I was drawn into this story…. No… sucked Into this story from the start. The characters? On point. The worlds built? On point. The storyline is fantastic. The “insert spoiler element here” was brilliant. Evelyn Sage is a master at combining all of these into the perfectly crafted edgy love story that leaves you wanting…. No… needing more. This is a purchase for the shelf, when will the sequel be ready kind of story.

I received an ARC copy to read, the following review is voluntary and honest.

This was an amazing book packed with action, adventure, angst, incredible characters and a world-ending love to last for the ages.

Liana is a princess, heir to a throne of a broken kingdom, disillusioned with love and forced to put duty above everything for the sake of her people, who she considers her responsibility and her priority above herself. Her relationship with her family is shaky at best, despite her love for them and her inclination to protect them from everything. She's in her mid-twenties, forced to endure too much on her shoulders, and while struggling with her capability to bear all that, she meets the one being that would complicate everything even more while sweeping her off her feet.

The sizzling chemistry between the leading pair leaves the reader breathless. Callum is the cliche tortured dark prince with a domineering yet secretly honorable and kind disposition, and Liana is an overlooked, extremely capable young woman with a discerning and strong personality. Both struggle with their past, and their wishes for their future, and find each other at the perfect time.

They drive each other crazy, they tease each other, never truly mean but always heated, they worry and care for each other from the very start in a way that makes you smile and blush. It is obvious that together, at the end, they will be great.

This book had major conflict, and angst in between, with a plot that was both complicated and simple. There was so much tension throughout, with a lot of buildup and mystery that caused me a lot of anxiety. It had a HFN ending, since it's book 1 of a series, but every plot line was resolved except for the main drive within the story: how can both Callum's and Liana's worlds exist together, or should they even?

All characters were wonderfully intricate, with unique story lines you can get easily invested in. The last chapter was massively complicated, with a million things happening one after the other that may give the impression it was rushed, but did managed to address everything the book was leading to.

Overall, this was a good story that I would recommend.

I am more leaning 3.5 stars on this read, only because some of the story I found myself not so invested into it. The FMC has a big heart and is not a damsel which I can appreciate and the author was able to write the story so you can get to know her sisters as well and their journey. I just cannot put my finger on why I didn't love it more?

The story also has a "groundhogs day" vibe to it, which while done before, the author was able to intertwine it into the story and the twist towards the end as well. I am not a fan of cliffys, but this one ends weirdly for me as well. It is like it's happy but its not...

What I can say is, this author can write a villain because I absolutely hated one of them so much...like literally loathed his ass to the very end. When the next book comes out I will definitely read it to see how the story progresses. If you like fantasy (with fae/hidden kingdoms) and fated mates with a bond they can feel each others emotions etc with some slow burn to spice then you will definitely like this story.

Liana is the Princess of Vanhal, trying to right her kingdom. Callum is the Prince of Stargard, a kingdom of Fae hidden by magic. Trying to get her kingdom out of debt, Liana agrees to a marriage of convenience but everything g changes when Liana and her sisters stumble through a portal to Stargard.

With fated mates, war, familial bonds tested, and mended, Liana's and Callum's stories are both unique and captivating. Both are trying to do the best thing for their respective kingdoms while trying to keep their families and people safe.

The world and character building is top notch, I felt as if I was standing right next to the characters throughout the book. The distinct relationships between Liana and her three sisters are just brilliant. Each relationship and their banter is unique to the characters.

I'm obsessed with A Shimmer Between and I can't wait to own a physical copy, and for the second book. Vanhal and Stargard quickly became home.

4.5/5 ⭐️

A Shimmer Between is an exciting fae romance riddled with magic, danger, and intrigue. If you enjoy hidden realms, fae vs human, slow burn, and el' spicy 'touch her and die' tropes - read this.

All things considered, I really enjoyed reading A Shimmer Between! This story includes a time loop that will keep you wondering what will happen next, making it a good page turner. The story has some dramatic moments that tend to sneak up quite quickly especially during the time loop events.

Evelyn Sage does an excellent job of writing the villains in this book, evoking emotions of pure hatred. Like, there are few characters that were downright awful. Grr. The FMC (Liana) is portrayed well and is no damsel in distress which I personally love in my books. I'm so excited to see how Liana and Callum's story progresses!

This is a real whodunit. As the night unravels, you’re given more and more clues, as well as more suspects. You’ll be looking side eyed at every character. Not knowing who to trust or who you can trust today. That’s not even the whole story! We get mystery, we get romance, we get swept away by wonderful characters, and we get whiplash. The plot twists! I’m a huge fan of a good plot twist, and A Shimmer Between made the whiplash worth it.

Liana and Callum are crowned heirs to their respected opposing kingdoms and they make a lovely main couple. Callum has a past that haunts him. Liana has a future that haunts her. Slap them together and you get a couple facing adversities, both their own and each other’s. Eima and Raine can’t be forgotten either. I wish we had gotten more of them for I am dying to know how their relationship will progress as well.

Spice level (1-5): 🌶️🌶️

When you’re engaged to a man named Bial, who is vile, you know you’ve hit rock bottom. As the crowned princess you know it’s your responsibility to help your kingdom. Your parents brought poverty and ruin to your kingdom and now you have to marry a man that can pay the debts. When a night of frolicking with your sisters ends with you along with your sisters being teleported into the faerie realm, this can either end very badly or be your last night of freedom. Being the cautious eldest sister, Liana is desperately trying to get her sisters to return with her. When she meets a handsome stranger, her resolve wavers. Maybe faeries aren’t what the tales have made them out to be? Or maybe Bial isn’t so bad.

I’d recommend A Shimmer Between to anyone who likes slow burn Fae romances. If you like books with time loops, Fae, mystery, multiple couples, plot twists, Romeo and Juliet vibes, fated mates, and a hint of spice, you’ll enjoy A Shimmer Between. This does contain spice but it’s not over the top. You can skip those bits if you’re against spice. The story alone is worth the read. The book does contain fighting, unaliving and death. No major triggers come to mind, so it’s safe for sensitive readers. For the fantasy and/or Fae lovers, this one is for you.

Warning: Reading A Shimmer Between may make you never drink the faerie wine. May make you wish you had a twin and/or sisters. May make you wish you were an only child. May make you hunt for diamonds that grow on trees. May make you wish you’d find entry into the faerie realm. May make you wish your dance card had a name on it. May make you suspicious of everyone. May make you feel like a detective. May make you want to use glamour. May make you wish you were mated to a handsome Prince. May make you question the logistics with centaurs. Wink wink. Read responsibly.

2/5 spice level 🌶

Thank you, Evelyn Sage for letting me be part of your ARC readers. This book is sooooooooo good!!! I can’t wait for book two!!! If only you guys knew how desperate I was to read this book early, I preordered it on Amazon and followed her tiktok forever just so I could get glimpses of her book. But now I finally read it and it was everything I hoped for. Could’ve had more smutty scenes but that’s just me and wanting everything to be like a Shantiel Tessier novel (i.e. The Ritual and Sinner).

Having seen the love between Liana and Callum brings warmth through my chest. I love how Liana becomes a strong main character to help save Callum and his kingdom from repeating the same day. I was so shocked they repeated the same day for 150 years, AND couldn’t remember. That was bonkers.

Lianas sisters are also great female characters and lead by example, and let you see the different sides to every story, every emotion that could be felt.

This was a great book and I can’t wait to reread it when I get the physical copy.

Got this as an ARC and it is phenomenal!!! I’d give it so many more stars than just 5 if it were possible. The characters were amazing and written super well and they just felt so real and defined. They also made you feel the growth and change were possible as well so that was something I enjoyed. Definitely not stagnant characters.

It did not at all play out the way I was expecting and it was such an gripping read. I couldn’t put it down and gave up sleep to binge it. So worth it! I would love to read it all over again for the first time just to experience falling in love with the story for the first time. I’m so in love with Callum. I can’t hype this book enough, there aren’t enough words to describe how much I loved it. I recommend this book to everyone. It is simply *chefs kiss*.

This amazing new book will pull you into its thrall, ‘A Shimmer Between’ is a fantasy romance retelling of the 12 Dancing Princesses. If you love spicy, action-packed romances with fated fae mates, strong princess, family drama, forced proximity, morally grey men and touch her and you die trope than this book is for you!

Dive into Liana’s and Callum’s story, live as Lianna and witness the tough decisions she has to make to save her kingdom from ruin and walk alongside Callum as we visit his past and throughout it learn that “True Love is the Most Potent Magic of All” despite hundreds of years of hatred and a long terrible history, many things threaten to rip them apart but fate seems to be on their side utterly pulling them together. Will humans and fae find their way in the world again together? Will they discover what’s wrong with the fae magic? Will Liana save her kingdom? Will love prevail? When Lianna is faced with two paths, which will she choose?

You’ll have to read to find out, this is the first book so far, told from Liana’s POV, and it’s certainly a winner. So put it on your TBR list because it’s a story you will not want to miss, in fact it may have you screaming a few times like I had. I’d had the pleasure of being an ARC reader for ‘A Shimmer Between’ and within the first five chapters I loved what I was reading and I just couldn’t stop, it pulled me into it’s world and it’s characters utterly enraptured me and made me instantly fall in love with them.

(Spicy scenes filled with tension were especially enthralling) wink* wink*

The author, Evelyn Sage, is amazing. I loved the description of the scenes, especially of the wondrous fae kingdom, and the way she told a character and was sneaky about her plot points and the way she’d put in a small twist here and there to keep me on my toes. The book also has some villainous characters you so easily hated whilst others you admired or felt empathetic towards and her overall storyline for her book was pleasantly unpredictable and new, unlike other books I’ve read. I didn’t see where this journey was heading and still don’t but I’m completely here for it, utterly ready for the next thrilling instalment and to read where Liana’s and Callum’s love and life together will lead themselves and the changing world around them.

I thrillingly recommend this book, it’s one of the best books I’ve read for a while and I thank Evelyn Sage for giving me the opportunity to be read it. I mean the time loop effect and Callum being as all powerful and Lianna being this badass… just amazing, I love morally grey, I love badass women in the books I read and this book checked a lot of boxes, again, I was even screaming at it a few times throughout it was sooooo good. Cannot wait for the next one!

I received an e-arc of "A Shimmer Between" in exchange for an honest review.

What first grabbed my attention was Sage's use of setting with her descriptions. I loved being able to be immersed in this world--with all its splendor and bleakness. Readers know of a time before depravity when Liana's world was parties and laughter. The loss of such splendor (and happiness) from her childhood to current situation is startling but understandable. The splendor kept alive in memories or remaining accessories (think jewelry and dresses). In contrast of Liana's kingdom, Stargard was simply magical and ornate and fitting for the Fae. I wanted so much more of Stargard.

Moving on from setting, there are the characters. Each rich in their own individuality. The reveal of their motives, thoughts, true feelings was nicely passed and fitting for each one of their respective roles. Our dear male main character, Callum, being my favorite of course with his backstory. Liana held her own against Callum, and they balanced each other. The other pairings in the book, both romantic, familial, or friendship, were great. I would have liked more of a coming to terms with each other for the siblings, but we will see if that happens later. Also, would have liked more of a prolonged romance, but again that may come later or be further flushed out.

The one aspect that threw me off was pacing. I found myself wanting an elongated ending where the climax doesn't happen right away or isn't completed in this book. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it just right ... but it seemed almost too nicely wrapped up for an ending for the characters in their storylines. Now all isn't well and good, but the resolutions and reunions just felt a little off to me because they happened without a lot of time to digest what occurred and why. I wanted more character growth in that aspect.

Overall, I have this rated at 3.5/5 stars and am looking forward to reading more of Sage and seeing what happens next.

I read this in less than a day. The story was incredibly engaging; the story kicks off right away. The first twist was so welcomed, as it was a very refreshing path that I personally haven’t read. The action is paced so as the cadence of the story is very smooth and natural feeling.

Liana is a beautiful FMC. She is bold, brave, and fully devoted to doing what is right for her people, regardless of the personal cost. She is a perfectly balanced FMC; she’s not a total bad ass who can fight everyone and is super stabby, she’s not irresponsible and in need of a wake up call, and she’s not a quiet DID waiting for someone else to do everything for her. She is a morally, emotionally, physically, and politically balanced and strong woman who will never stop fighting for what she believes and for whom she loves. She is 100% relatable.

Callum is classic “touch her and die” book boyfriend material. His commitment to his people is rivaled only by that of Liana, He’s strong, but not impenetrable, and his strengths are a fabulous compliment to Liana’s.

The world building was wonderfully composed - drawing on the start contrast between Vanhal and Stargard. The detailed descriptions, especially of Stargard, were beautiful and easy to imagine seeing.

I loved that the three supporting sisters each had their own personalities expanded upon in detail and throughout, and I expect that to continue as they each find their own path through this series. Liana’s betrothed, Bial, is in my mind, one of Hans’ older brothers from Frozen. His malice and vibe are the adult version of him. He’s easy to hate, which I love.

I cannot wait for the next in the series!!!!

Note: I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I genuinely enjoyed a lot in this book and felt it stood out as a unique story despite it being a retelling.
What I liked…
I love how we get an MC with a balance of sense of duty but also resentment over the situation.
I loved the twist and surprises in here.
I also loved the balance of closure and openness at the end. No spoilers, but it was a relief to not have a tragic or devastating cliffhanger.

What I didn’t like…
I’m technically giving this 3.5 but I rounded up because it felt is was closer to 4 than 3.
I’m a visual reader, so this is very subjective, but I got quite confused picturing the scene at times. One moment a character had left the room, and the next, the MC was talking to them and others that had suddenly appeared.
This is completely unhelpful, but I felt like this lacked that certain “je ne sais quoi” that really grabs my attention in a book. The writing was good but not as emotive as I usually like.
Callum’s power was… awkward. Sometimes it was fun, but the extreme version… I was conflicted over parts of that.

Final thoughts…
Was is worth it? Definitely, and I’ll be happy to jump into book 2 because I want to know what happens.

This is a story about princesses, fae, arranged marriages, fated mates, betrayal and war all in one, and it was wonderful! Liana is the heir to Vanhal, and her parents basically bankrupt the kingdom forcing her to believe that the only way to save her kingdom is an arranged marriage to a rich, power hungry man. She and her sisters accidentally stumble through the veil and into the fae kingdom of Stargard, which was long since believed to be a part myth because it simply vanished 150 years ago. Once there they realize that their problems are much bigger than simply paying off their kingdom’s debts. There’s deadly, vengeful magic trapping the fae in their world and Liana and Callum must find out why to break the cycle. But in breaking the cycle they may set off a chain of events that they cannot control. This story was well written, had a great world building, a morally grey hero and a princess that’s willing to give her all to save her sisters, kingdom and her mate. The ending leaves you ready for book 2, and anticipating what’s the next step for Liana and Callum and their kingdoms.

4.5/5 ⭐️

A shimmer in between was an amazing read. It is a fantasy romance retelling of the 12 dancing princesses. It is full of action, dated mates, Fae, centaurs, family drama, forced proximity, touch her and you die trope, strong FMC, amongst other things. This is the first book of a series and is told from Liana’s POV. The story was beautifully done, right away we are trown into the story and the many twist and turns helped maintain the readers focus and interest. The world building was amazing, it really helped the reader imagine the two kingdoms this book presents us. The descriptions of Stargard were so incredible and beautiful, I really wished I could live in a place like it. The characters are so good and likeable, two of my favorites being Callum and Eima. I really can’t wait to know more about Liana’s and Callum’s story and were the second book might take them. I absolutely recommend this book, and I think everyone should give it a chance because it is truly an amazing book.

TITLE: A Shimmer Between
GENRE: Fantasy Romance
AUTHOR: Evelyn Sage
TROPE: Fated Mates
TYPE: Series (The Lost Kingdom Book 1)
POV: 1st Person
MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

Liana (Human) and heir to the throne is desperate to save her people from poverty and starvation, even if it means entering an arranged marriage. Growing up with the legends of an evil fae king who steals human maidens and a mysterious kingdom that has long disappeared, Liana finds herself more of a realist, and those are just stories for children. Callum (Fae) runs into Liana when she somehow finders herself in the lost Fae kingdom, setting off a series of events.

I enjoyed the storyline and both Liana & Callum's characters; her sisters are also likeable, each in their own way. I read through the story quickly, and even though there was a bit of a cliffhanger, I felt there was enough closure to keep me settled until the next installment in the series. I am giving A Shimmer Between a rating of 4 / 5 Stars.

What a unique story!
Never have I read a book where the days repeat like this does in Stargard. This story took me on a whirlwind of emotions and I loved every minute!
Forbidden Romance, Fated Mates, Shadow Magic, "Touch her and die", Betrayal and we can't forget the gruesome and epic battle scenes. This story gave me everything I love in a book! The world building was fantastic, and I could clearly envision the towns and castles, even the bog with out any issues! Evelyn of course gave us the strong willed and sassy FMC we all love, with the cocky and arrogant sexy fae MMC for her to fall head over heels for. We get the most INTENSE slow burn I think I've ever read, and HOLY MOLY! The steamy scenes make the wait so worth it!
I loved how each of the sisters we're unique and different, but in many ways easy for readers to relate to. The family drama and secrets we get about their mothers illness were heartwarming and saddening after believing for so long that she was just selfish. Ugh I could go on and on about this book! Please just read it! Its a MUST READ for fans of Fantasy Romance and/or Dark Fantasy Romance.

Totally hooked!!! I can’t wait for the next one. I was lucky to receive an ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First I have to say the writing is great and the flow made it easy to follow along. No lagging anywhere. I enjoyed the surprise of the time loop in Callum’s kingdom. At first I thought I accidentally restarted the book. I liked that Liana and Callum’s bond was not plain and simple of “just met and are heads over heel, one villain, and beat villain the end.” There is actual mystery and a whole spiderweb mess of villains, traitors and possible future paths with different outcomes AND even after choosing one path it is not going exactly as foretold. I enjoyed the personality of the princesses in how you have the responsible one, hot headed one, party girl, and the quiet one. It made it relatable, just like my sisters and I. If you like fated mates, touch her and you die, and some spices (18+) this is for you.

Liana and her sisters stumble upon Stargard while wandering in the forest. Human legands have said this is the lost kingdom of the fae. Some never thought this place to be truly real.

Liana’s first encounter is with the fae Prince, Callum. After a whirlwind night that ends in bloodshed, the sisters are thrown back into their own realm at the stroke of midnight. The very next night, they find their way back to Stargard only to discover that the fae are reliving the same night over and over again without any knowledge of the sisters or the night before.

While the plot certainly gained momentum at this point, the romance did not. That first night between Liana and Callum was everything as a fated mates bond was formed. I was hooked and eager for more. The way it happened and how they both discovered it was perfection. But each night Liana would return, she would have to explain the bond to Callum. And each explanation got shorter and shorter and it sort of diminished the intensity of it for me and made it less believable.

Overall, I enjoyed this fantasy romance. Because the romance lost some credibility over time, I dropped it from 5⭐️ to 4⭐️.

I received this book in an ARC group and am happy to review this book. I genuinely enjoyed this book, the story telling and world building in the beginning reminded me a bit of ACOTAR. Fated mates, war, sibling drama and more. Liana and Callum are both dedicated to their kingdoms and when she realizes the issue in Callum’s kingdom, she has to fight battles left and right to save the day.

I will say I wasn’t too fond with how this ended - built up to a very quick end, worlds still divided and left me with more questions about the mate bond. Throughout Callums life he kept thralling human women, so how does he not risk harming his human mate to the same fate? I’m hoping this goes in depth more in the next book. Would definitely read more books by this author!

Ohhh Evelyn, you really did me in with this book. I’m already anxiously awaiting the 2nd in the series to see what happens next with Liana, Callum, and the rest of the crew.

This was such an interesting take on fantasy and romance. Loss. Gain. Mystery. Adventure. Oh man? It covered it all.

Humans and Fae, both living different worlds, their own lives. But what happens to those that believe those tales they have heard. What happens when something is wrong and you can see that shimmer between…..

Thank you Evelyn for this ARC, I can’t wait to get my hands on the physical copy of this one (and the rest of the series she comes out with tbh)

This was a retelling that was worth it.

Join our heroine as she travels through holes in the veil to place long forgotten and struck from history books as she tries to save her kingdom from ruin and poverty. She is married off to someone who she loathes but is willing to put up with if it means her kingdom is saved.

I really enjoyed being taken into this world that the world thinks didn't exist, meeting the characters that would grab your heart and make you melt. Re living the same night also has its downside when you meet your mate yet they remember nothing.

Thank you Evelyn for letting me read this as an ARC for my honest thoughts, I could not put it down

Ok this is my first time reading a book like this. I can't say I didn't like it. The star Cross lovers is my favorite. This book kinda takes me to the reason I started reading in the first place.

If I had to pick one character from this book that I love more then the others it would have to be the leading lady. She is strong, caring, and will always put others before herself. Not only that but she is willing to grow and tell other off. Don't get me wrong her mate is smoking 🥵 but I really like her. I can't wait to see what happens next in this story. I give this book 🌶🌶🌶🌶 for spicy and a 5 for a good read.

I received this book as an ARC and am leaving this review willingly.

This book pulls you in and takes you on a roller-coaster adventure. This story has fated mates, magic, betrayal, and a hidden world. It is a slow burn.

Liana is a human princess, that is trying to save the people of Vanhal. She stumbles upon a hidden world. This world she thought was made up stories of her childhood.

Callum is the hidden worlds, Fae Prince, he is also trying to save his kingdom. Little did he know that Liana would be the one to help him.

I cannot wait until the next book comes out and I see where their story takes us.

Wow!

Fae romance with time loop?! Um, yes!
This book is filled to the brim with so many things I look for in a book. We have magic, touch her and die, fated mates, kingdoms, and lots of intriguing characters. It also gave me so much more than I anticipated, yet also, not enough! I need more of Liana and Callum! (What a leftie!) The way this world felt was so magical, even with the dangers that lurk within the shimmers.

It definitely scratches the ACOTAR itch, but Evelyn gave life to a story of her own, and she told it extremely well. I didn't find any moments that dragged or felt dull. This was definitely a page turner, and I'm highly anticipating book 2!

Devoured it in a single sitting. Got a teaser of it before the full ARC hit, and from that first hit - I was hooked.
You get the touch her and die vibes.
You get strong FMC.
You get to meet all these other fun and amazing characters throughout the whole journey of this book.
The world building is breath taking and dynamic.
A new take on humans and fae.
Fast paced, didnt feel any lull in the story at all which is GREAT!
A small cliffy, but nothing to bad to deter you from reading it.
Cant wait for the next book!
