not just another book of patterns, there are many photos (and patterns taken from) socks and stockings that were seen/purchased from Mid. Eastern regions and also from museum displays...

there are several "eastern" techniques illustrated and used throughout the book, regarding different ways to cast on and off, and the knitted stitch itself.

I didn't read every word of this book, but I did page through it to get an idea of what's in there. This book has quite the collection of sock knitting techniques and construction methods... almost an overwhelming number of ideas for new socks!
