Stan and Jan Berenstain (often called The Berenstains) were American writers and illustrators best known for creating the children's book series the Berenstain Bears. Their son Mike Berenstain joined them as a creative team in the late 1980s.

This book is an early reader level 1 book. I would recommend it to any early reader!
In this book Brother and Sister bear, along with their friends Fred and Lizzie find a kitten stuck in a tree. They try to climb the tree, but are unable to. They get Papa bear, but he scares the kitten with his ladder, then they get the Fire-bears but they scare the kitten with their sirens and lights, then they get the mayor who calls in a rescue helicopter which also scares the kitten. Will they ever get the kitten to come out of the tree?

"The Berenstain Bears' Kitten Rescue" by Jan Berenstain was published in 2011 and is a great choice book for kindergarten-2nd graders to read to themselves. It is a great book for students to practice sounding out words and following along the storyline through pictures. This book is about the cubs saving a kitten from a tree.

In the book "The Berenstain Bears' Kitten Rescue" by Jan Berenstain the bear scouts were walking around and scout Lizzie hears a cat meowing and they realize there is a cat stuck in a tree. The bears want to get the cat down so they devise multiple plans in order to get the cat down. After every plan has not worked Mama Bear shows up from the store with cat food. The bears put the cat food at the base of the tree and the cat just climbs right down to eat the food. The news cameras show up and takes a bunch of pictures and that night the bears sit and watch themselves on T.V. One of the major themes of this book is that with teamwork anything is possible. Another major theme of this book is that sometimes in order to solve a problem you should not over think things the simplest ideas can be the best ones. This book was super cute I loved how all of the bears put their plans aside to help a cat. The illustrations were very bright and colorful and were accurate to the storyline. This book is great for younger kids for entertainment and to learn a life lesson. I would recommend this book to younger children or to elementary school teachers because kids will love this book but at the same time it teaches them a valuable lesson about teamwork. I would also recommend this book because it teaches kids what the importance of being selfless to help others less fortunate.

I love the Berenstain Bears and have since my own childhood. Now as we are finding more and more fabulous I Can Read! books it only makes us excited to find new ones from the Berenstain Bears. The Living Lights Series is full of moral and Christian values that I am delighted to share with my kids. This specific book with the Good Deed Scouts is a stage 1 with simple sentences for eager new readers and from page one through the end is about hope and perseverance. I am delighted to have it on our shelf.

Let me start off by saying I am a huge Berenstain Bear fan. I am not sure on what I think of this new book. There is a bit of religion in this book. Which is a red flag for me. Some people may be offended.

A kitten is stuck in a tree. The Good Deed scouts try to rescue him, however, its not as simple as it looks.

This is marked by the publisher as a Level 1, Beginning Reading Book. I disagree. It is much to hard for a level 1.

I don't like most Bernstan Bears books, but got this one because it was a leveled reader, which Natalie likes quite a bit now (such as Cars books ans Elephant and Piggie). This was just okay. As usual, the moral was too steong; in fact it was pointedly religous as I've noticed the BB books have become. The bulk of the text is supposed to be funny, but it missed the mark for me.

The Bear Scouts are wondering what to do as their good deed for the day when they spot a kitten up a tree. It seems like a simple task to start with but soon the whole town is having to help with the proble. Decent and mildly amusing Berenstain Bears adventure.
