Caroline must deal not only with the string of bizarre murders but a vengeful ex-husband, his alcoholic heiress child bride, a manipulative and sleazy FBI inspector and an enigmatic soldier with sexy blue eyes. The stark realization that the killer is not her contemporary is not nearly as terrifying as the seeping suspicion that the final and ultimate target may be her children, living with their father and his new wife.

I won a copy of "Burning Spiral" by Edita A. Petrick through the Goodreads Giveaway Contest. This was a romantic suspense thriller with a touch of sci-fi.

Carly Osych and her partner Bill Rashleigh, two homicide detectives are called out at the crack of dawn to the suburbs of Chicago, to a murder scene. Male bodies continue to pile up, and Carly and Bill add it to the current case. Something strange is going on when the victims at the morgue are all named Michael, and they all drive an Altima, and have all died in the same manner... Each victim has a vaporized chest hole, and all have fluorescent maps on their faces. All the deaths happen in the middle of the night, there are no witnesses, fingerprints or family. The method of death is unknown. But what is the motive for the killing? Was there a message in the maps? What does it mean? The killer left no clues at the murder scenes.

Carly must dig out the truth, and believes they have all the pieces of the puzzle, it's just that they can't put them together correctly to see WHO or WHY.

I highly recommend this book.

I wish I could give this book 4 and 1/2 stars! Burning Spiral is a fabulous read with suspense, romance, and some science fiction thrown in! Something strange is going on in Chicago when the victims at the morgue are all named Michael, and they all drive an Altima. They have all been killed in the same manner, and all have fluorescent maps on their faces. I highly recommend this book

The ending that simply puts all the mystery on a future time travelling killer is plain stupid.
Dont build a mystery to that level that even you cant solve it properly.
