Ronda Armitage is the author of many children’s books, including the Lighthouse Keeper series.
She attended University of Auckland, 1963, 1969, and Massey University, 1965; Hamilton Teacher's College, certificate of teaching, 1963, diploma of teaching, 1969.
She lives in England with her husband, illustrator, David. They have two children.

Cute little story of a mom and two kids. Shows a creative solution of kids get unruly while shopping. Not sure that solution would work for my kids. (Chuckle)

Harry the Koala bear doesn't want to go shopping; as a matter of fact, he hates it. But he and his sister Matilda, end up doing just that with their mother one day. But while their mother is trying to shop, the kids are busy fighting and picking on one another instead. I found the illustrations of the koalas rather disturbing and creepy, the mother koala particularly odd, breaking out into song while in the department store. Maybe it was to show her children how fun shopping can be? I didn't really like the characters; I thought the koala children were rather immature and not disciplined as well as they should have been.

Well, this little children's book introduces a new technique for getting your kids to behave: threaten to embarrass them if they don't. Fortunately, my daughter is still at that tender age where she's never embarrassed by her parents, and so this story of two koalas being polite to avoid public singing of the bloomers song didn't make much sense to her
