She lives in England with her husband, illustrator, David. They have two children.

The stories of Mr Gringling the lighthouse keeper are often used in school, not only are they great stories but they also inspire childrens imagination for story writing. This book tells of Mr Gringlings problem he faces when he is locked out of the lighthouse, he story demonstrates the improtance of overcoming problems and not giving up. This book could be used to introduce story writing, discussing the language and structure used.
