this book made no goddamn sense at all. it was almost on the level of a babysitters club mystery, with all the plot contrivances & children jeopardizing their safety for no good reason, without any adults noticing.

so, somehow julie & her family are acquainted with a wealthy couple who seems to love to host auctions. they host an auction to raise money for local school sports programs & it's very successful. julie's mom donates a hand-beaded dress, which is purchased by a hollywood st

Her idea for raising the money is a patchwork quilt which will depict the facets of ocean life. Upon meeting a wealthy man named Mr. Vernon whose wife wants ...more

An interesting puzzle as what looks to be a real big problem involving an accidental breakage of a priceless musical instrument leads to the discovery of actual criminal activity. Sometimes with the Julie books I feel like the historical period feels somewhat tacked on - like the mystery could have taken place anytime. But still it worked out well and was an interesting story overall.

I thought I was a great book about how the ocean got polluted and many fish and birds died.I loved how the auction was to save the birds and fish and their homes.I also loved how Julie's family lived right under the thieves apartment of the stolon guitar.

Another nice mystery for Julie. Unsure of why it was necessary to use Danny Kendricks, are the rights to the name Jimi Hendrix that hard to get?
