I think everyone has had a friend that ends up going through a rough part of their life. At times it seems no words that you can say will comfort them or you think you have said all you can say to them to help them through. Just when you thought there was nothing left for you to do to help, you will see this book looking out at you from the bookshelf. Eat Yours Peas, Faithfully words by Cheryl Karpen and art by Sandy Fougner is a beautifully written and illustrated inspirationally encouraging gift book. The simple phrases paired with Bible verses help the reader know they are not alone in their struggles. In addition to be comforting the book is also uplifting. The books opens with the passage “If you ever need someone to talk to (really talk to), someone to hear (really hear), what’s on your mind and in your heart, I’ll be there for you. I’m just a phone call, email, or text away.” The book goes on to say that in the meantime read these pages and take heart knowing that comfort is within the words on the page. Karpen does a fabulous job of pairing an appropriate Bible verse with encouraging words and paragraphs. This book would be perfect as a gift for a person going through a rough time or as a graduation gift. There are other books in the “Eat Your Peas” series and all are great gift giving books or books to keep on your own shelf when you need a little sunshine.

This is a cute little book, the cover will draw you in and the inspirational words and Bible quotes will keep you reading. It wont take long to read, or you can read a page a day to make it last. This would make a great gift for a good friend who is having a hard time. I could see a good friend of mine giving this to me.

We all have difficult times and this is a nice reminder that someone is always there and that you are loved. Get this book and give it as a gift to someone you love, include your phone number so they know you are serious about being there for them(this an idea from the authors notes.) We all need reminders that we are loved and cared for, this is a good one.

I was contacted about reviewing Eat Your Peas, Faithfully: Simple Truths and Happy Insights. It is a cute little book! It's not exactly my style of book, as it is rather fluffy. However, hardcover and compact, it makes a great gift for someone who reads books like the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. The snippets of wisdom are easily digestible and the book's illustrations and designs are gorgeous.

Thank you, Thomas Nelson, for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Full of great phrases of encouragement and verses to back these phrases, this book would make an excellent gift for a lovely lady in your life. A best friend, a sister, a grown daughter, teacher, or someone else special to you would likely appreciate it. I know that if I was given this as a gift from someone, I'd really be touched. I'd feel loved and treasured.

This was such a cute little book. Just short snippets of encouragement and lovely thoughts. Perfect for giving to a friend who is down or ill or just as a 'thank you' for being a cherished friend! Each double page was a complete thought and the book could be read either in its entirety in a few minutes or the reader could just read short snatches each day.
