These are pretty so-so stories on the theme of the holidays. There are some big names in here, like Lee Lynch (with perhaps the best ones.), Jane Rule, and Val McDermid. I only finished it last night and can’t think of one story that stuck with me. One was completely unreadable. Even the cover bugged me. It wasn’t so noticeable when looking at the small picture online, but reaching for the book night after night I grew more bothered by the photo of two women kissing. One is staring at the camera. I found that disturbing. Look at the woman kissing you, not me! Plus, her right eye is so turned that all you see is white, making it look blind. Creepy.

The books wasn't all bad. There were some stories in here that I would give 5 stars to, and there were others that I would give 0 stars to. There were so many different genres of stories that it didn't seem like they all fit together into a compilation. Also, the title and description are a little misleading for most stories in this book. They mention that it is a certain holiday or infer that it is. but the story really doesn't have anything to do with most of the storyline. There were a couple stories in here that I will read again and really enjoyed and there were some stories in here that made me think that my dog could be a writer too.

So far, not so good. Had high hopes for this book but its a waste of money. The last few stories were actually good. So the book redeemed itself a bit
