Though she’s seen people she’s close to fall in love, Janessa Halverson has no desire to do the same. Janessa was young when she lost her parents, and though she loves the family she’s a part of now, she has no interest in falling in love with someone, only to lose them. And having kids? Nope. She would hate to leave a child the way she was left After being dumped, Will Kennedy isn’t sure how long it will be before he’s ready to date again. Will thought he’d be marrying his long-time girlfriend, but she had other plans. Though he's always hoped to have a marriage like his parents have, he’s not sure how to get there without risking his heart again. Now that the people they are closest with have relationships of their own, the pair find themselves spending more time together. Janessa always has room in her life for more friends, so she’s okay hanging out with Will. But as they get closer, Will wonders if it could lead to something more. Janessa might be starting to feel things for Will, however, it hasn’t changed her mind on relationships. Can love triumph over fear? Or will fear rob them of a future together, along with the friendship they’ve forged? Janessa is book 3 of the Christian romance series focused on the lives of The Halversons . I always appreciate a new book by Kimberly Rae Jordan because her books are not overly tense and fast-paced, nor do they leave me exhausted when I finish reading them. I like the well-paced character development, along with the romantic development. Janessa is a well-done book with a friends to lovers trope, and Jordan does it all very believably. I recommend starting with book 1 so you know who all the various characters are that show up again in this book. I'm amazed that Jordan can write books that overlap in time with the others in the series, but it's not irritating or a drawback. I'm ready for the next book!
First of all let me say this is a good book and I really loved it and want to thank the author for the storytelling and taking a single line ,"how fear can be detrimental to life".
While starting to read this book, I was slightly confused about the timeline that this book is happening as I read the previous one. In the epilogue of the previous one they didn't exactly mention the time jump but seeing lines like "in the past year" made me assume. And I am thinking the events of this book took place during that time jump that is between the second book ending and the epilogue. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLEAR WITH THE TIMELINE.
this book certainly is a 5 star book.

Another great installment to this series Focusing on Janessa and Will journey to their HEA I loved how Kimberly dealt with two distinct issues, fear (Janessa) and heartbreak(Will). As in the previous books the Halversons family and friends play an important role in the story and makes it more authentic as they support and love each other
There is a little drama but the overall story centers on Janessa and Will ultimately finding happiness in each other and the support of family and friends Great job Kimberly inviting us into the Halversons world again. I look forward to reading about the other siblings story.
What a wonderful book of faith, family and love. Will had a sad time after breaking up with a long time relationship. Rather than a broken heart his self respect and confidence was destroyed. But after much prayer he realizes he is in love. But she must find faith in God and what a struggle until she finds renewed faith & Will by her side. What a great book don't miss it.
Janessa and Will were friends for a very long time. Janessa had a crush on Will but nothing became of it. The reason was because Janessa was dealing with something from her past. Will is a very kindhearted and God loving man. He is dealing with a breakup from Daphne who he was with for years. The story gets very interesting. You must read this wonderful book.
Kimberly did an excellent job once again. Janessa and Will are such a cute couple. I just love Will's sweet spirit. He is patient and kind. The passion he has for his students speaks so much as to the kind of character he has. Janessa is a mixed bag. She has sarcasm, with kindness and caring for patients and family. So glad that they were also overcomers!
This was such a beautiful, sweet story of love between two of the most wonderful characters ever! There were figurative mountains to climb and problems to solve and lessons to learn and all of them made this story and these wonderful characters some of my favorites of all time! Highly recommend!
Like another author I read our author is vey good at showing toe truth about living as a Christian being a journey of self improvement. Janessa’s long held fear about losing people has kept her limited in her interaction and very unhappy until family comes alongside and encourages her to seek counseling and let God help her overcome her fears.
The author is such a good story teller which makes her a great writer. I felt my heart was tucked with everything the couple when through and it gave we hope and strength to follow their ways. I had many tears in my eyes yet also lots of laughter. Loved this book.
This was an uplifting and beautiful story. I love the Halversons they are an incredible family of faith, loyalty and support. This was a great topic of faith over our fear that shapes our lives. This community and the characters are friendly, faithful and are like a big hug of comfort. Just a fantastic must read. Enjoy
This author is very skilled. Normally, authors get bogged down in minutiae in the middle.. this author didn't; she kept the action going with no story boredom. A story of faith overcoming fear. Then Janessa sought help to get through it & to learn more about her parents.
I love each one of Kimberly 's books. This one did not disappoint. Janessa's struggles may not be something we all deal with, but learning to trust God in all circumstances is definitely something we should all learn to do.
Fear is something that can take over your life and make you feel like you can’t cope. Giving God your fear is a process. I loved the reality of how Janessa had to work through her this. I like how Kimberly deals with real issues people face in their lives.
Not a bad story, but don't know yet if I will bother with any more of this series, as I sometimes think a series gets boring, mainly reading about the same people all the time, 3 books is about as far as I can go.
These two did not grow with sunshine and Roses. They lost their parents when they were young young young. I am so thankful to have had my parents to their mid 70’s. God graced this couple. Start reading now.
This story touched my heart as Janessa struggled to overcome the fears that held her heart prisoner. This friends first romance is gentle and sweet. Will has known Janessa forever but seeing her with new eyes brings him hope and healing. Another clean, Christian romance for faithful readers.
I always liked Will in the other books from this series and I’m so glad it was his turn to get the girl. As always, God is prominent in Ms. Jordan’s story.
The third book in the series lived up to my expectations. I would recommend it. Do not allow fear to get a foothold, it will take over and strangle you.
This is one of the slowest relationship builds. It is still good but not my favorite halverson book. Still love them because we get to see the other family memebers
