I wish I could go back in time to my nursing school and slip myself enough money to buy this book. If you are limited on funds, buy this book then the hemodynamic monitoring one. If you have rich grandparents and Christmas is coming, put them all on your list.

I used this book to brush up while precepting and as a review before taking certification exams.

You can almost set your text aside and get all you need from this book. It actually makes electrolyte imbalances make sense--you won't just memorize signs and symptoms, you'll truly understand them, as well as how each imbalance impacts the others. Get this book. Get every Incredibly Easy book you can find for nursing. I think they have Cardiology/ECG Strips, ER/Trauma, ICU, Assessment (currently reading), and NCLEX-RN, among others.

This book is one of the best I have ever purchased for nursing. It is a very straight forward explanation of the effects of fluid and electrolyte imbalances, including acid- base balance. Includes a few common diagnoses and the effects thy have on fluids and electrolytes. I have leant this to a number of colleagues who have all agreed it is a very useful text book. Simple, easy to understand.
