First things first: Social Nation is not your typical social media book.
In fact, I’d go as far to say it’s not a social media book at all. It’s more of a philosophy book — and that’s a good thing.

Social Nation offers both practical and philosophical tips on how to best use social media to help grow your business. Social media is about relationships, not accounts. In Social Nation, Libert reminds people of the purpose of these social tools and how to integrate them into the big picture of how your organization operates. He encourages readers to look for ways to connect authentically, which is key. Many people look to just connect.

I had seen good reviews on this book, so I picked it up to. It is full of platitudes that are absolutely unhelpful for someone actually trying to make use of social media. If you are aware enough to want to read more about social media, social networks, and the like, then chances are you are already too advanced for the beginner this book is aiming for.
