Pastor Hosea Bush and Pastor Lester Adams have been selected to run for president of the American Baptist Coalition. Pastor Bush represents the Northern region while Pastor Adams represents the South. Either of these great men of God would be able to serve the coalition with honor and in a respectable and Godly manner. But, wait a minute, who are their wives?

Enter Jasmine Bush and Rachel Adams and here comes the drama!

Jasmine is already rethinking her promise to God that she has kept for two y

3 stars because it’s just not my type of read but I do have the other three 😳. The entire read was about one upping the other, dirty deeds, and political game playing but these are church guess it’s true what they say about church ppl.

The church ladies go at it to one-up the other. Each lady believes their husband should be President of the Atlanta Baptist Coalition (ABC). There's more drama than Pastor Hosea or Pastor Lester could ever comprehend. But, it's such a political/powerful position that Jasmine and Rachel equally aspire to win-the coveted title. These women, along with Mae Francis, are hilarious characters written with such devilish, devious... ideals. Pun intended! IMO, a negative to the audio version was the stra ...more

Jasmine Larson Bush never imagined that she could become the first lady. The first lady of the American Baptist Coalition (ABC) that is. Her husband Hosea informs Jasmine that he has been nominated by the church to represent the North division for the ABC. Now all Jasmine can picture is all the things she will do once she is the first lady. Though, first her husband has to win and he is running against Rachel’s husband, Lester.

Rachel can not wait until she becomes the first lady. Than she can ha

Devious, conniving, self-indulgent, sinister, lying, cheating, so-called First Ladies? I was appalled by the suggestion. I was forced to ponder the possibility of their existence in real life. Sure an author or authors can conjure up any personality with the creative flick of their imaginations. But, this concept just did not sit well with my spiritual psyche. I hope that what has been portrayed is JUST imagination and not rooted in reality.

I was emotionally drawn into the manipulating tactics

Plan B

If you think Mob Wives, Basketball Wives or any one of those Real Housewives anywhere are custom fitted with drama, scandal, and deceit, then you need to run up on first ladies, Jasmine Larson Bush and Rachel Jackson Adams. Both are certain that their husband has what it takes to be the president of the ABC - American Baptist Coalition.

Although Hosea Bush is repping the North and Lester Adams the South, there's only one coveted position. May the best woman win, as Jasmine and Rachel prepar

I loved every funny, dramatic word of Sinners and Saints by Victoria Christoper Murray and Reshonda Tate Billingsley. First Ladies Rachel and Jasmine are so focused on their husbands winning the head of the Baptist Convention, they cannot see how much alike they are. I loved their alternating voice/chapters and the over the top oneupswomanship. I laughed out loud so many times at their antics and could actually hear their voices in my head. I was actually trying to think of who could play them i ...more

Victoria Christopher Murray and Reshonda Tate Billingsley collaborated together on SINNERS & SAINTS. They brought their two favorite female heroines from their respective best sellers, Lady Jasmine and Lady Rachel, together for one rip-roaring, jaw-dropping, hell-raising time. That's right, two First Ladies with the same goal in mind and almost the same thought processes to get it. And nobody is going to stand in their way. Then the two authors, brillantly introduces another heroine that is ...more

They did it...wrote a story that had me talking to the book and laughing out loud. Lady Jasmine and Rachel want the same thing - for their husband to win the position of president of the American Baptist Coalition but they both can't win. So fight is on and it's going to get dirty...IJS. You didn't hear this from me but that Jasmine reminds me of someone I know while Rachel is straight up country crazy. But God don't like ugly and he ain't to fond of pretty...well that is what my grandma would s ...more

I don't usually like books that are a collaborative effort, but this one was great. I haven't read many of Reshonda's books, but Victoria Christopher is one of my favorite writers. This book was well written, and it was done in such a way that unless noted, you would not have known that it was a collaboration. Some of the turn of events were shocking--unpredicatable, which is something that I can appreciate in a book. I'm a little shocked to discover that there will be a part two. With the way t ...more

Great collaboration! Rachel and Jasmine are so much alike yet different. They both want their husband to have the prestigious position that will also put them at another level. Is this push for selfish reasons? These ladies are so busy trying to upstage each other they don't see they're the ones being played. Who's going to come out on top?

This is a quick read that oozes with drama. I completed this page turner in one day. The events keep you laughing and shaking your head. Will there be a sequ

This review is from an advance copy.

Game knows game, don't try to out s*** the bulls*****, any slang you want to use fit Jasmine and Rachel. These First Ladies didn't trust their own shadow but would stand their ground against any one who tries to hurt their children, family or husband. Pastor Bush and Pastor Adams both had first ladies who kicked butt and ask questions later and let the chips fall.

Three cheers to Victoria Christopher Murry, and ReShonda Tate Billingsley.

1 vote for team Jasmine.

While I've read about Lady Jasmine & Rachel's individual scheming ways, it was a joy to read about them going head to head against one another. I can't chose a favorite yet although I did think Rachel was more clever than Jasmine anticipated. Good beginning to collab, looking forward to reading more

I listened to this book on audible.
The narrator did a good job.

This book was filled with unbelievable bickering and pettiness between 2 adults. The women in this story were unlikeable. You felt sorry for the men. The story moved along at a steady pace with no character growth occurring for any of the staples of the series.

I loved this series. Need to remember which I read and which I didn't read. "Freenemies." I had many laughs in one book where Oprah's show is mentioned.

When I finished this book a couple of months ago, I closed it with a better understanding of why a lot of people don't trust quote-unquote 'church folks.' I've never been to any kind of church convention or conference or anything but I imagine that this book was a pretty fair representation (even if slightly over-dramatized) of what goes on there. The cattiness and underhandedness that went on in this book between the first ladies in the name of promoting their husbands was amazing, especially g ...more

‘Michael Jackson said it best…who’s bad…’

Jasmine Larson Bush, wife of Hosea Bush, pastor of City of Lights at Riverside Church, has been nominated as a contender for the head position over the American Baptist Coalition. Rachel Jackson Adams, wife of Lester Adams, pastor of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church has also been nominated for this prestigious position. This nomination is not the only thing these two men of GOD have in common. Their wives are both high strung, opinionated, determined,

Murray and Billingsley did a terrific job with this collaboration. I held off on reading the book. I wanted it to be fresh in my mind as we prepared for Book Club meeting. A number of things came to mind as I read this fictional work. Namely, the shenanigans that go on behind the scenes of elections. Good selection based on what's happening in the world today.

Voters may never have all of the information necessary to make well-informed decisions. While the two Pastors in the reading were being he

Jasmine Larson Bush and Rachel Jackson Adams play to win. So when their husbands are both nominated for the presidency of the American Baptist Coalition, they'll stop at nothing to see them win. And though they're supposed to be women of God, there's nothing godly about their scheming and plotting. Sinners and Saints could have been aptly named "Christians Behaving Badly."

While the two ladies battle it out at convention, their husbands are oblivious to what's going on until it becomes all too o

There Can Only Be One First Lady

Both Jasmine Larson Bush and Rachel Jackson Adams are first ladies. Both of their husbands have been nominated for the position of president of the American Baptist Coalition, one of the largest African American religious organizations. Both Jasmine and Rachel think their husband is the best man for the job. Each woman thinks she will make the perfect First Lady of the ABC. Both ladies are not above getting down and dirty to make sure that happens.

Headline: An Election like You Have Never Seen Before!

Are you on Team Jasmine or Team Rachel? Victoria Christopher Murray and ReShonda Tate Billingsley have written their first joint novel bringing together two of their most famous characters, Jasmine Larson Bush and Rachel Jackson Adams. To say that sparks, drama, and gameplay follow when these two “First Ladies” meet would be an understatement.

This is a real page turner and a quick read. The chapters are short and jumping with details.
Lady Jasmine Larson Bush desperately wants her husband, Hosea, to become the new President of the American Baptist Coalition. In Texas, Lady Rachael Jackson Adams wants the same for her husband Lester. These ladies will stop at nothing to get what they want. Both of the Pastor's are Good, Godly Men, and want God's Will in all.

TEAM JASMINE!!! This book was loaded with drama, so much so that at one point and time I got a headache, and had to sit back and rub my temples. These two ladies went at it hard, I am so glad they're fictional characters. I couldn't imagine real Christians acting this dysfunctional. This was not my first time reading about Jasmine Cox Larson Bush, but it was my first time reading about Rachel and she was a HOT mess. A whole lot of Sinners and very few Saints. RTB and VCM created a story that is fun for both fans of Jasmine and Rachel, as well as new comers. I have read only one book by RTB that featured Rachel Adams and one book from VCM that features Jasmine Cox. Both writers does a great job of getting the reader caught up on what the two characters have been up to since the last time we read about them.

When the story begins, both Jasmine and Rachel has tried to live normal lives and place their past behi

There is NO drama like church folk's drama! When Rachel and "Lady" Jasmine find themselves on opposite sides of the election for President of the American Baptist Convention, all bets are off. Each wants her husband to win, and both are devious enough to plot, scheme, and stop at nothing to see it happen. What they didn't take into account is that the sitting First Lady has a vested interest in seeing that the Presidency goes to the proper person. The question is, just HOW vested is her interest ...more

Money, drugs, power... the Baptist Church. The husbands of Rachel Adams and Jasmine Larson are running against each other to become the next president of the American Baptist Coalition, one of the most powerful religious organizations in the country. Both ladies want their side to win and they will go to any lengths to make it happen: smear campaigns, bribery, and sending the other to jail are just a few. Will all of this be worth it or will it ruin them as well as their husbands?
