It took me a few years to actually read this. I did enjoy it. There also wasn't a lot of Spiderman action, yes I know this was about focusing of Harry I still wanted my Spiderman fix!

Wish it was a little longer to pace the story a little better and have more room for character development. I loved the art and how Spidermans suit looked.

All in all 3.5 stars for me.

Spinning out of the ashes of Dark Reign, Harry Osborn gets a spotlight miniseries from the pen of Brian Reed. Harry Osborn has been through the wringer, thanks in no small part to the actions of father Norman Osborn. The former Iron Patriot ans Avengers leader was revealed to be a goblin-obsessed psychopath who had impregnated Harry's fiancee. Making matters worse, the American Son armor has been making reappearances - and Harry is not the pilot. Peter Parker must help his best friend get to the root of the mystery before it threatens to drag another Osborn down into madness. Sadly, this volume capitalizes on the comic book tragedy of Gwen Stacy and Norman Osborn's children, which continues to be a blemish on the Spider-Man mythos. The return of Gabriel Stacy - with a split personality no less - ruins any enjoyment I might have gotten from this volume. Writers are still trying to rediscover the Osborn identity, years after those stories played themselves out.

It's not uncommon to praise a graphic novel as exciting, but for a super hero comic, it's a lot harder to find one that I can praise for good story telling. The Osborn Identity is a great story that would have benefited from a little more time. Norman Osborn, The Green Goblin, previously ran an impostor Avengers unit, but is now in prison. During his time as head of the "Avengers" he created a suit for his son, Harry. Harry became American Son. Now, Harry runs a coffee shop an when American Son returns people are quick to assume that Harry is back in the suit and may be up to something. Is Harry following in his father's footsteps? Is Harry really out of the family business? I really don't want to ruin anything; it's a great story. I've seen the Spider-Man movies and I've dabbled in the comics, but my Spider-Man knowledge is just a little better than a non-comic person, but I had no problem following and appreciating the story.

A solid, tight little story about one of the loose ends after Norman Osborn's time as leader of H.A.M.M.E.R., and a great place from which to launch more stories. I've always been a sucker for the Osborn family storyline, though, and there's way more of them than there is Spidey in this collection, so if they are not your thing, then neither is this.
