Arranged chronologically from 1857 to 1875, this collection of 220 wood engravings by the popular nineteenth-century illustrator includes many works which originally appeared in such magazines as Harper's Weekly and Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper
I read this catalog raissonne for Winslow Homer's wood engravings for work. Was glad I knew a bit about Winslow Homer from touring exhibits with my dad. The essays are not illustrated so I went to images of Homer's work on internet a number of times while reading which enhanced the read for me. This is not necessarily a book I'd reccommend for everyday reading but I needed the information for an exhibit I was working on.
