Noni the Pony lives on a farm by the bay. She's friendly and funny and her best friends are Jac Dog and Coco the Cat. In the day time she gallops and canters and entertains the other farm animals, but sometimes at night, when the leaves sigh in the breeze, Noni gets spooked and that's when her friends help Noni go to sleep.

Noni the Pony is a cute, rhyming story about a pony who loves to dance and spend time with her friends. A great read for bedtime!

Very cute rhymes and some good vocab words.

I'm a big fan of Alison Lester - her set of four little board books (Happy and Sad, Bibs and Boots, Crashing and Splashing and Bumping and Bouncing) are huge favourites at our house, and I've picked up a couple of her Imagine books too, so when I saw this one of course I had to get it.

It's the sweet and simple story of Noni the pony who is friendly and funny. "She lives on a farm near Waratah Bay" and likes to prance and dance for the "ladies" (cows) next door. She has two best friends, Dave Dog

This is the story of a pony called Noni who is friendly and funny and has a shimmering, honey-coloured tail. She lives on a farm overlooking the sea and likes trotting and prancing and kicking up her heels with the hens and the ducks. Her best friends are Dave the Dog and Coco the Cat who run and play and jump over the creek. And like a good friend, Noni is always careful that no one gets left behind, that if thunder frightens her friends, she cuddles them close and tells them stories to help ...more

Wonderful, sweet book about a pony. Each illustration covers two pages, with two lines of rhyming text. There isn't a set plot, but its still a cute book. I would not hesitate to read this in a story time, the illustrations are vibrant, and the text flows well, making for a great read-a-loud.

The daily adventures of a kind pony and her friends.

This is a fun, happy story of a pony, the friends she does stuff with daily and what they like to do. Most of it is actually stuff a pony would do, though finding a truly kind pony is like finding gold (just ask whoever you know that actually works with/rides horses, ponies can be evil!)! But for the young animal lover, this is a cute introduction to a pony's world.

No content issues.

This is a delightful picture book. The simple illustrations are colourful and engaging. The rhyming text tells of Noni's life on the farm, her adventures with her friends, and, most importantly, how friends can help you be brave during scary thunderstorms or dark, spooky nights. My almost three year old was engaged by the story and illustrations, and immediately wanted to read it again. I borrowed this from the library but think we'll be buying a copy for our collection at home.

Meet Noni the Pony and the other animals who live with her on her farm in Australia.

A cute farm animal book that little animal lovers should devour. Noni is a good friend to the other farm animals, and the rhyming of the text is well done. Going to have to buy this one for the niece who LOVES farm animals.

A sweet little rhyme about a pony who is living her best life. Dancing, prancing, eating her favorite foods, sing-alongs with her friends... man, Noni has it all. #lifegoals.
In all seriousness, this is a cute, colorful read and perfect for toddler storytime. I've used it several times over the past three years and it's always well-received.

Nice simple story told in rhyme.

Miss 4 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.
LOVED it. It's simple, colorful, rhyming, and a neat story.

This book is touchingly sweet. If they make Noni the Pony stuffed animals, you might as well get one if you're buying this book because you'll want to huggle the stuffing out of it.

This story is about the friendliest pony you will ever meet, Noni the Pony, and all the fun things she likes to do. While you journey through Waratah Bay, the farm where she lives, she loves to gallop and dance with all of her friends. She especially loves playing with her best friends Dave Dog and Coco the Cat. From playing hide and seek, to chasing and jumping the creek. She cares very much for her friends and never leaves anyone behind. Whenever one of her friends is having a bad day,
Noni the Pony is a simple, rhyming story about Noni (a pony) who lives on a farm overlooking the water. She’s a happy pony – friendly and funny – who likes to dance around with the other animals on the farm. But her best friends are the dog, Dave and the cat, Coco. Noni is there for them when they are scared . . . and when the night scares Noni, Dave and Coco appear to make things better.

This is a gorgeous simple picture book which would probably appeal to a large range of readers. Noni is a

Noni the Pony is on my favorites shelf because it is such a cute book that teaches children about friendship. The characters in the story are all animals which makes readers even more drawn in as it is written for primary grade levels. Young readers would find joy in reading about Noni the pony and the message it gives about friendship in this short fiction picture book. Noni is always there for her friends so when she needs someone her friends are sure to be there for her.

I would use this book

We really enjoyed Alison Lester's Noni the Pony.

Rachel was worried when she picked out Noni the Pony. The simple illustrations made her think that perhaps the book would be a dud. But she was wrong and the book was delightful. Noni the Pony is best friends with Dave Dog and Coco the Cat. They play all day, tell stories and sometimes when Noni the Pony gets scared at night (When the leaves rustle and sigh in the breeze, Noni thinks monsters are shaking the trees) the three friends snuggle and
Meet Noni the pony and her friends on the farm at Waratah Bay, and hear about how they spend their days. Noni is a plump, fun-loving, paint pony with red/orange patches on white. Fun rhyming text and a very personable pony make this a sure hit with the storytime crowd.

“Noni the pony is friendly and funny. Her shimmering tail is the color of honey. She lives on a farm at Waratah Bay, and likes eating apples and carrots and hay.” (pp. 1-3)

Pete immediately liked this book, he was leaning forward to listen it on the first reading and brought it to me the next morning while I was still in bed and asked me to read it and remembered the a hit. For any kid that likes horses or bouncy rhyming schemes. For parents who like short, simple books for bedtime.

All ages

Noni the Pony loves to run around and play with his best friends Dave Dog and Coco the Cat. Noni tells stories to his friends and sings to them night so they won't be afraid.

This would be fun for a horse themed story time. This would also be a good book to talk to the children about what they can do to be good friends.
Matt likes this because Noni is 'gentle and kind, and never lets anyone get left behind'. And he thought 'Ten Little Fingers, Ten Little Toes' was right-on. Ll seems to like this one, as a 3 month old kid he finds the pictures easy to look at and they're easy to understand. But hey at his age it's all timing, innit?
We have had a toddler renaissance with this one. Kid loves it at 2.

A simple picture book about a horse! This is not a common find in the world of storytime. The verses are simple and sweet--but nothing much happens. It'd make a good 2nd or 3rd book for a themed storytime but not a great standalone.
