About the author

Terrie and her husband own a small farm on the eastern shore of Maryland where they have lived since 1977 raising Morgan horses, and most recently, Miniature Zebu cattle. For the past twenty-five years she has worked at a nearby Thoroughbred farm as an Equine Mid-wife.

Native American studies have been her passion for more than thirty years. Since 1995 Terrie's research has been focused on the culture and history of the Lakota, which included four trips to Montana and the Dakotas.

In 2000 Terrie joined the Whirling Rainbow Lodge. She has been an active member, and has been honored with the privilege of serving as a Council Member. Under the supervision of the Seminole Shaman Caocoochee, she continues to walk the Medicine Path, and has participated in the Pipe Ceremony, the Sweat, Green Corn, and a four day Vision Quest.

Most recently, sparked by her many personal experiences, she has delved into the paranormal genre, and also founded the Eastern Shore Paranormal investigative team, based out of the Delmarva Peninsula.

I loved this book. Not only is Wind in the Grasses Dancing a romantic epic, but it was extremely educational. It is evident that the author did a lot of research into the culture and history of the Lakota. It is a wonderful story written with passion. The characters are believable, and the romance between Dancing Wind and Amber is beautiful. What I really liked about this book, is that it was not predictable, like so many others that I have read. Can't wait for the sequel. Does anyone know when it will be available?

The beginning of this book had me captivated instantly. It was so easy to fall in love with the characters that I found myself holding my breath at certain moments, needing to read the outcome right away. I would like to thank Terrie McClay for the time and research that had to go into this book. If only my high school teachers could have made history so intriguing *sigh*. Now for some constructive criticism...Towards the end I felt that some of the flow was lost. At the beginning the reading glided so smoothly I fell in love when they fell in love. Then with all the battle scenes I felt as if I was reading a telegram straight from the time era (which in retrospect is a cool idea)and then it was just over. But all in all, I really did enjoy the book.

Terrie McClay’s historical fiction marries the best of two worlds: history and romance. Her meticulous research into the history of the era is anything but dry—she brings the world to life through the vibrant and three-dimensional characters.

If you are looking for the false stereotype of the West and American Indians, you won’t find it in Terrie’s novels. Her details and historical facts enhance the portrayal of Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse’s resistance through the eyes of her main characters. This is no textbook though; it is a love story at its core and the action and suspense create a very readable book to meet everyone’s taste.

This book has a lot of potential; the story kept me interested. However, it is very poorly written. The grammatical and spelling errors made it very difficult to read, not to mention how disjointed it all is. This is the problem with self-publishing, no editors. The author is definitely not a writer by profession. I would like to continue reading the series, but can't face reading something that has so many errors. I just wanted to take a red pen, make editing marks and mail the book to the author!

I won this book on giveawyas and it was really good it's about these people who is a Indian's and it is set in the year 1876 i really did enjoy this book and the love these people had for their own kind but this is about a Indian named dancing wind and he falls in love with a ranchers daughter and she is a white woman and then he has to go of and fight the soldiers to save his land and the woman he falls in love with she is called amber and she has his baby and they name him wind after his dad and so this is about love loss and sadness i do wish people would read it and learn of the difference cultures this book has and in the end hie does become a free a man so him and amber can be together forver

Gotta hand it to Terrie McClay for taking this subject matter and making it so educational and entertaining at the same time. This wasn't my first western or Native American romance but there is always more to learn and this book taught me much more than years of schooling ever did on this subject. It broke my heart reading about all the Native American's went through, when all they wanted was the land that was rightfully theirs.

The romance aspect was beautifully done as well. The middle got a little slow at points for me, but the end picked up and I had trouble putting it down!

Great book and I will definitely continue with the story.
