..dipping into this in search of reference to IRL....only passing references and generally as you would expect generally negative....
...intersting to note that AFTER the roman legions finally departed what is now mainland uk, the nation is reported to have descended into a state of moral decay and every vice imaginable and

read the relevant sections of chapters 13 & 15 for my Roman Britain module. Good translations but they all blur into the one as the different passage aren’t really spaced out that much

I loved this book. Very clear and accessible. No need to fumble endlessly through the classics library - just go to Ireland, Stanley Ireland!
