We read this book as part of a unit study on chickens. We are hatching chicks in an incubator so it was very helpful for the kids to see what is happening inside the eggs. I think this book is a FANTASTIC introduction to sexual reproduction. It talks about how all animals come from eggs, EVEN DOGS! A well written and illustrated book.

This book is a cute story, perfect for younger children. The story enables kids to see the process of development for an egg developing into a chick. The images that are included help a child to understand how the development occurs.

Mom, here. The first few pages shared more information about reproduction than I knew...so be alert, parents!

Wasn't expecting a book about baby chicks to have "sperm" on its very first page, but hey, it kept me reading.
