If you want all the answers without any specifics, you’re reading the right book. Some good ideas, but too deep and too shallow at once to be very practical for a teacher. Needs to be revised to include more brain development (NME) and similar concepts.

I work in the education industry, but I am not an educator. That said, this book outlines a framework for the type of dramtic improvements to our education system that I would expect to see as the result of our country's significant investment in education through ARRA. I will be interested in talking with those who are actually educators to get their take on what seems to get to the heart of the matter, the classroom.

This is a book that I have been reading for a book study at my school. I think the authors have fantastic ideas and theories for school reform, but they stop at that - theories. They fail to provide specific strategies and concrete examples of how to put these breakthrough reforms into practice.

It would be wonderful to think that everyone who read this book immediately shared it with 4-5 colleagues and then set about planning how to bring this ideal to reality. The cynic in me says it won't happen any time soon, but the optimist in me says the Breakthrough may be nearer than I think. Definately a model of education worthy of consideration.
