Kelsie Connor - Irish vampire slayer (a family tradition, though she didn't know it until)...
Hayden Flann - Irish living vampire (not the undead) and enemy of the Connors...they both leave Ireland, she at encouragement of grandmother (only relative) who hoped she never find a vampire and never find out about her 'talent'; he leaves stay separate from the feud with the Connors.

And they find each other, and they fall for each other, and end the feud forevermore...

Great afternoon read!

I don't generally like novellas, but this one had a little more substance than some. It was just the right length for a relaxing afternoon reading, with just enough going on to keep me interested.

This sexy novella kicks off Linda Thomas-Sundstrom's new Vamprie Moons series. The plot is fairly simple: Vampire Hayden Flynn meets Kelsie Connor, a reporter looking to prove the existence of paranormal creatures. Hayden senses that Kelsie is a Slayer, and it so happens that their families have been enemies for centuries. This incredible information is a surprise to Kelsie, but something inside her tells her this is true. Complicating the situation further is the undeniable attraction between Hayden and Kelsie. How can ancient enemies become lovers?

This was a very quick read at 61 pages on my Nook, and a big part of that was the initial meeting/seduction scene between Hayden and Kelsie. The chemistry and sexual tension between them was strong, and I've always enjoyed the slayer/vampire love affair storyline. And, did I mention that Hayden was an incredibly attractive Irish vampire?

Being that this was a short book, I felt like much of the backstory regarding the blood feud between their two families was glossed over. I was left with several "how" and "why" questions. However, I thought that the author added an intriguing twist to the vampires in her world, and I hope it will be explored further in future books. It's refreshing to see new ideas in vampire romance, and Linda Thomas-Sundstrom has caught my attention.

Jessie Stewart is a former cop and giving up or giving in--not something she does easily and when sexy vampire Lance Van Baaren threatens her solid stand, she just might lose her soul. Hired by the government to find a missing senator's daughter, she first stumbles on a link to her own past and something is drawing her to the vampire she should despise and wants to despise. Once a knight, Lance was sworn to protect the innocent. And one of those innocents had been a young Jessie. Now face-to-face with the woman she has become, he's determined to help her solve the case and make her his own in the process. Would the discovery of her past push her away or towards the sexy vampire. Predicatable vampire story.

Loved the opening scene - in a nightclub, where she is looking for a werewolf, and finds... something else. Though this is a Bite - a short novella, Linda Thomas Sundstrom did a good job with story and pacing and HEAT.

My kind of story, and I've found that I connect with almost all of this author's work. and tend to buy everything she writes. When you find resonance - stick to it.

Hope you like this novella, a Nocturne "Bite," which is like a "bite" of a book. Ha! It's a slayer who doesn't know she is one... pitted against the last vampire of his lineage... in a Florida nightclub and in their home country of Ireland. Plenty of sparks for those of you who enjoy shorter tales.

Can a vampire and a slayer be together even though they are supposed to be ancient enemies? Yes, they can. Take out all the extra fluff and you are left with just the meat of the story which is this short.
Not a bad freebie read.

This was a tough read. Interesting story line, but it took way to long for me to read. Especially with an ereader.
