A guide to exploring the theory that character shapes sexuality and sexual difficulties. Terms such as sexual hypochondria, supersex and sexual learning disability are introduced in this text in order to highlight the relationship with personality forces.
Helps you understand your sexual habits and feeling which is linked to your character, that is shaped during you childhood growth environment. You learn to show and feel affection when you are growing up. Overal interesting and good book but felt that the author endorses conservative man-woman relatioships when talking about of homosexuality as a fetish in the book.
The good - Based on author's deep and extensive experience counseling marriages. Writing is vivid, descriptive, but not too verbose. Chapters are short and succinct, easy to consume. Topics easy to follow. Talks about sexual "disorders" in both men and women. 90% of what she writes is timeless and cause for reflection. Interesting for sure.
The bad - The structure of the book is lackluster. Doesn't read like a narrative so much as a couple of list.
The ugly - There are moments when it is hopelessly out of date. I got the version that was published in the 1990s, but it still said in the first chapter that homosexuality was a choice of lifestyle. Also, I sense that the author spends more time picking apart the women than the men, but I would have to count out the words to prove that.
