A lightweight and pleasant erotic romance. Nothing kinky. Just vanilla sex and lots of it.
It gets points for quoting the movie The Princess Bride. It also gets points off for the excessive product placement (a pet peeve of mine).
For all you Size Queens out there, this features a 9-incher ;-)

This is the first book I have read by this author. I really liked it, I admit I had some problems with it, but otherwise it was a good, very light read for me.
It's not an overly original story. Girl marries boy, boy's brother loves girl, boy cheats on girl (at their wedding reception) and brother gets girl.
My problem with the story was the heroine. To me she gets married...well to be married. She is not the most intelligent of heroines, she comes across wishy-washy and too flighty to me to reall

This is a first-read of this author and I was very pleased. The plot is not too intense and the premise is not a new one (guy wants the girl who marries his brother), but the pacing and tone with which Alden tells the story makes it an enjoyable afternoon's entertainment.

Initially, the heroine, Julie, doesn't seem overly bright. She's marrying a man who is a jerk and she knows it. But that's probably more like real life than not. She does show her grit early on and Alden does a credible job of s

This is the 1st book I have read by Jami Alden and it was FANTASTIC! I will definately be reading more by this author!

It was steamy from the start and heated up the further i got into the book, lol!!

At her wedding reception Julie finds her new husband Bryan doing the dirty with his new Secretery Vanessa and later finds comfort in the arms of her former best friend who happens to be his half brother.

She follows Chris back to the private resort he runs in the carribean and the story is full steam

This is a very steamy book that I absolutley adored. Any woman could completely relate to this book. Hilarious at times, I've even laughed out loud. Oddly enough, there is also a twisted version of suspense included.

I don't really know why, but this book just didn't do it for me. The sex could have been hot, but I didn't feel the chemistry between hero and heroine.
Julie was awful, and I hated how she tried to make Chris believe that she just wanted sex- dishonest and stupid. The miscommunication between them was there from the beginning and got on my nerves before I reached the middle of the book.
Personally, I found that condom-business irritating...I always think: isn't there a way around it in FICTION, fo

Fair - although I occasionally wanted to whack the so-called heroine over the head!

I wasn't particularly thrilled with this book. Julie discovers her new husband Brian having sex in the closet with his secretary at their wedding reception, so she decides to throw the wedding cake in his face. Then Julie goes to the hotel room of his half-brother Chris and decides to have sex with him on her wedding night. A couple weeks later Julie then decides to take a vacation at Chris's tropical island resort. Julie meets four girls of a bachelorette party and four guys in a diving party ...more
I really enjoyed the book up until the last 75 pages or so, the love scenes were VERY steamy but got repetetive towards the end...I mean these people were doing it like 5x a day everyday! I'm surprised they didn't drop dead from sheer exhaustion. Also the ending seemed very rushed the whole "conflict" of them not being able to be together took 20 pages max to wrap up before they decided they couldn't live another minute without eachother.

Weird but I KNOW I read this. I knew things that were going to happen before they happened but I had never marked it as read, so I don't know what is up with that. I was going to say I didn't finish it before but I'm pretty sure I did because nothing surprised me.

Still was dull and boring this time around. Ok, but not great.

The cover hooks you, but this is not an erotica, just to clear it up..
It's your standard romance, get loves boyfriend, marries him...when the time to cut the cake comes she goes looking for new hubby and finds him screwing someone else.. she goes and runs off with her brother in law...

I've owned this book for ages, but somehow it got packed away in my old apartment, never saw the light of day at our old house, and was only just unearthed a few months ago while unpacking books at the new house. This was a happy turn of events, as I have been looking for light reads to help me ease back into reading physical books. (I've been reading mostly audiobooks or e-books lately, and not nearly as many as in years past.)

Private Party is a quick, light read with some very hot sex. Nothing

They were best friends in college, even though they weren't supposed to be.

They were about to become in-laws, even though the bride didn't love the groom.

They are going to make a lot of people angry, even though them being together is harmless.

Julie and Chris were friends in college, even after Chris's father told him to stay away from her. After college they drifted apart and Julie started dating Chris's younger brother. On the day Julie got married and found her new husband having sex with som

This was a great book to read on the plane. It was light, not too much angst and just the right about of sizzle. I loved the start of this book, which finds the heroine getting married to a complete jerk that can’t even wait until the cake is cut before cheating on her. In the aftermath of the scene the bride, our heroine, makes we find the she’s raced off to a tropical island resort owned and operated by her brother-in-law (aka the hero). As the dust settles, the history between the hero and he ...more

very good story. Julie was supposed to be married to his brother but an incident in which Julie caught her just husband with his assistant in a closet at their wedding reception has changed all that. She goes to the one person who could make things better Chris(best man & brother of the groom) who has had a crush on her since they were in high school. Being told to stay away that he wasn't good enough was what he heard & not wanting to cause Julie any harm he never fought for her. When s ...more

Really enjoyable erotic romance. I am taking off one star for the label whore moments which made me feel as if I were watching one of the shows from the Kardashian franchise. Describle pretty clothes, but making overt reference to Chloe and Jimmy Choo is so new money. The main character is held up as a paragon of good breeding and elegance. As such, while she may buy Dior, she would never discuss having done so. Also, no one wears 4 inch heels for a walk on the sand. That would be dangerous and ...more

Julie Driscoll finds her husband having sex with his assistant Vanessa in a closet at their wedding reception. She wants revenge and figures she deserves her honeymoon. She's always been attracted to Chris Dennison, her brother-in-law, what better person to help her out.

Chris takes her up on her offer and they have an incredible night of sex. At the end of their night of hot sex, Chris leaves her a note telling her if she ever feels the need for a vacation to show up at his resort. He never tho

OH MY GOD!! This book is so HOT, I'm surprised that it didn't burn my hand.. But what was so much better is that it has a very good story-line along with being so Hot/Sexy! I have read so many Erotic books that had great sexy scenes but no story line to them that this book was a joy to read.

Here is the write up from Amazon:

This was an interesting read. Rich girl gets married and at the reception rich husband was found by the bride in the storage closet doing his new assistant.

Julie was raised as a rich girl and was bred to be a socialite and following her father's request she married a man who he thought would be good for business. But Brian is scum and cheated on her at their reception.

The love story is really between Julie and Chris. Chris is Brian's half brother and Julie and him went to college together.

A really well written by the numbers contemporary romance, featuring rich people, exotic settings and lots of sex. This kind of story isn't my thing, but it was a pleasant enough read.

Strangely enough, by the end of the book, I really wasn't rooting for the couple to get their HEA. I liked the heroine, Julie just fine, but I had a lot of problems with the way her love interest Chris treated her. Julia, as the pampered and very obedient daughter of a wealthy businessman was sympathetic and I boug

Un libro común. No tenia nada demasiado llamativo.
La trama was ok.

This is the first book that I have read by Jami Alden and I really enjoyed it. I could not believe what the character Brain did to Julie in the beginning of this book but, she really got back at him for it. The character Chris seemed like a very smart guy until he let Julie walk away but, I am glad that he came to his senses at the end. I was so happy when Julie finally stood up for herself and proved to everyone that she could take care of herself and what can I say about the sex scenes other t ...more

Pretty good, my first JA read - I'd read more of her. Anyone have any recommends of other JA books?

At Julie's lavish wedding reception, she discovers her new husband in flagrante delicto with another woman. She'd determined to share her wedding night with someone, so she turns to her old friend, Chris -- who is the groom's half brother.

Julie follows Chris from San Francisco to the resort he runs in the Carribean. Will her visit to rekindle her friendship with Chris turn into something more?

I've read some Aphrodisia books in the past. They're generally known to be very smutty, to put it bluntly, but run the gamut on how well they're written, but mostly not that great. This book is one of the few exceptions. It was well written and I felt the characters were well developed. The plot is pretty simple and some of it is a bit cliche when it comes to your modern romances, but overall I felt it was a nice easy read with some very well written and steamy scenes.

Ok I read this series out of order the 3rd book was only 99cents.
This book jumps right into action when Julie (bride) finds Brian (groom) in the broom closet cheating on her at their wedding reception! She finds "comfort" in the arms of his sexier, younger, black-sheep brother (Chris)...then he returns home to the Caribbean.
Their relationship returns when she head o his resort to get away for the scandal of her wedding aftermath.
