The author was my friend's mother and was one of the most gracious people I have ever met. She came to the school where I taught and after telling her story, allowed our students to ask anything they might like. They were allowed into her story with her. She was an amazing, powerful, loving, and inspirational woman and speaker.

We should all learn the story of the holocaust and build as many walls as possible to prevent it's return. Reading the books of those that lived through this crisis helps me understand their struggles.

It's a fascinating account, not overly dramatic but full of detail that takes you through the experience of the prison camps with her.
