I admit I haven't read this cover to cover. Who does with a recipe book?! I am a bit disappointed that there aren't more recipes for ingredients I like or would want to cook but it was cheap. I deliberately didn't go for this on kindle as in my experience recipe books don't work as you want them to- often without pictures and it's difficult to browse. Now I jus need to actually purchase the slow cooker!
This book has some great recipes with lots of tips and alternative options. Well written and easy to follow instructions mean a great result every time.
A great selection of recipes but probably a bit too advanced for a complete beginner, I need something a bit more straightforward! Something to come back to for inspiration.
Haven't cooked anything in this yet. We don't even have a slow cooker yet (Christmas hint fail), but I've basically tabbed about half the recipes. Some names are fairly mundane: lamb rogan josh, sausage and beans, sticky toffee apple pudding. Others sound more designed for the slow cooker: peppered venison with scones, beery barley beef, salmon in miso broth, stocky rum bananas with vanilla. All demand I make them instantly, then immediately go out for the day and return to a house full of cooking smells.
Check in with me in a year's time to discover whether we have one, unused slow cooker. But even if we do, this book will still look great.
I have got my slow cooker out and I am going to cook the mushroom and chestnut pudding. There are so many dish I want to try that I am going to buy a hard copy for the kitchen. Thank Sara for wetting my appetite to want to cook so many of the dishes in the book. I want to try making bread in my slow cooker but as of yet not got a recipe. Thank s again.Jan
