I wouldn’t have read this on my own will (it was a Master’s assignment). The story is lackluster, although there are some interesting take always in regards to the group mentality of native Hispanic literature—how one’s identity is decided by societal perception.

hated the first section but didn't mind the second. for what it's worth, everyone else in my latino lit class seemed to like this book much more than i did
