Astronomy - What is the biblical perspective? Pocket Guide 2021

Rate this book
Did the universe start with a big bang? Does distant starlight prove the universe is old? What are black holes and how do they form? Is the gospel written in the stars? Secular astronomers teach that the universe formed more than 12 billion years ago starting with the big bang. This Pocket Guide to Astronomy examines the strong evidence that points to a young age for the universe and helps give you a biblical view of astronomy. Truly, the infinite size and complexity of the universe proclaim the awesome majesty and power of its designer, God.

This book is ridiculous. At times, Faulkner does describe the science well. However, he is inconsistent. For some reason, Faulkner brings up evolution when it has nothing to do with the topic. He uses the historical vs. observational science (a term only used in creationist spheres) to dismiss some findings. He often puts an idea out there without explaining it further. No citations or sources are given. He does reference the Bible and gives specific passages but does not give the version. Overall, it's a rather poor explanation.

This is a great Christian book, though I feel that the author seems a little harsh in debunking false thinking, and not quite the “gentleness” that the Bible commands of us in answering questions. However, it is a great book that gives satisfactory answers!
