It was hard to get into the book at first as Catrina seems to be going out of her way to point out what a b*tch she is. Rhys is a former priest (and virgin) who seems to dislike Catrina while being fascinated by her. It was not an easy romance, but they both seem to bring out the best in each other.

The whole Black Madonna/Marian thing could be hard to follow. But the story is different and an intriguing look at the past. And the friendships starting to grow will lead to more of the mystery being

At first it was difficult for me to get into, even though I like the author. The main character just isn't all that likeable. She grows on you, but at first I just didn't want her to "win" the male character. I had grown attached to him in the earlier books in this series, and just plain didn't want him to end up with Cat. But it all got worked out and she ended up not being entirely hateful.
