Fantastic overview of Tibet and the controversies regarding Tibetan sovereignty and Chinese occupation of Tibet. The "Tibet problem" is an amazingly complex issue and one can only get oversimplified, inaccurate and biased views from mass media. The book is a must read for anybody who wants to truly understand the much publicized Tibetan independence movement and the situation of the Tibetan people since the 1950 Chinese invasion.
The new edition keeps the content of the first edition; but the authors added many notes expressing his current viewpoints which have evolved since the publication of the first edition. As an ethnic Han Chinese from Mainland China, Wang deserves much credit for his objectivity and tolerance. I'm also glad to see him admitting his own faults and becoming more open-minded through reading his notes.
