Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri is an Italian comic book writer and illustrator, noted for his works of highly detailed renderings of the human form, particularly erotic images of women. He is best known for his work on the Druuna erotic science fiction series.

Druuna X is what I wanted from The Sweet Smell of Woman. This is another Serpieri Druuna sketch book with all his hardcore images, which he then self-censored for publication - So we get a lot of the phallus & penetration images from scenes in the Druuna graphic novels as well as a few one-shot scenes that were never used. As well as the art which is stunningly beautiful as well as being erotic we get some insight into the mind of the artist. Serpieri talks about his inspiration and gives snippets into the evolution of Druuna and her universe. I hadn't really thought about the the mutating virus as a metaphor for AIDS but it kind of is - which works so perfectly with the sex and horror nightmare themes of the Druuna-verse.

Fans of Druuna won't be disappointed with this one.

Never heard about Druuna before but had to pick this book up of course. Inside you'll find a true sex goddess and men devouring vamp. The illustrations and drawings are quite explicit but I really liked them. If you're fond of a big breasted larger than life comic character this is your book. Highly recommended!

On termine l'année par un challenge surprenant mais dans le bon sens.
Moi qui étais réticente, j'avoue avoir été séduite.
Il faut l'avouer, Druuna est magnifique.
