The journeys were good, but the flaps a little awkward in places. Having animals or cupcakes under a flap works, but smoke? We enjoyed it, but not as much as Maisy deserves.

I would've given this 3 stars but kiddo loves it so much he'd give it 4 or 5. A couple times yesterday he took the book (at the library) and plopped down on the floor in the middle of tons of activity and "read" the book by himself! He has been choosing this book over others and sitting down wherever to read it since we brought it home yesterday.

What a great book! I'll admit, that my opinion might be skewed by Natalie's current love of Maisy and vechiles. We also built up to this book by first reading the one on trains for a few weeks, then fire engines for a few weeks. Natalie liked it a lot when I read it to her at lunch, and she didn't even play with the flaps yet.

With over 40 flaps to open, this book is great for language development. Children will have an opportunity to guess whats under the flaps.
