He could not find his glasses and put the signs up anyway.

The signs were all MIXED-UP! Little Town was all mixed-up! Where were Mr. Pine's glasses? Who had his glasses? How did he solve the problem of all those mixed-up signs?

About the author

Leonard Kessler was an American children’s book author and illustrator and centenarian.
Kessler was born in Akron, Ohio and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Europe. Kessler received his bachelor's degree in fine arts from Carnegie Mellon University in 1949. Kessler moved with his wife and family to New York City, New York and then they moved to New City, New York. Kessler wrote and illustrated books for young readers.

Imo, suffers in comparison to Mr. Pine's Purple House. This is just giggly fun, rewarding for someone learning to read but not so much for me.

LFL find. The school library finally let go of it when the spine became completely lost. Obviously kids loved it to pieces.

Too bad neither of these are avl. on openlibrary (yet). I opine that they are timeless.

The book was presented to me in the first grade by my teacher at Christmas. I believe she chose this book because I always excelled at printing (with those big fat pencils). The book was very readable and amusing as I remember.

This is a silly little book. My kids like this story. I wouldn’t say it’s funny on the level of Amelia Bedelia funny, but it’s entertaining. In general it’s a first grade reading level or in between a Level 1 and Level 2 reader.

This book was my most favorite book when I was little & I still have my original copy today. I will always treasure this book because it makes me feel nostalgic while I think of my fondest childhood memories, one being this book.
Mr. Pine, a sign maker, has lost his glasses. He misplaces signs all over town causing much confusion.
The author Leonard Kessler is a talented writer/illustrator of children's books. He not only writes his books but illustrates them as well. You can tell he loves children and enjoys writing books for children.
I highly recommend this book! I never grew tired of it as a child & I even like to read through it as an adult. This is a must have for children!

Silly story about a town whose signs get all messed up when Mr. Pine looses his glasses. Excellent book to use when introducing cause-effect-problem-solution. My third grade placement teacher read this book and then gave students a organization chart with four columns where they filled out:
what was the problem, what caused the problem, what was the effect of this problem, and how was it solved.

Very good transitional book that will teach children about safety and what signs on the road mean. Honestly, I wish I had this book before I took the driving test. It really helped me learn all of the signs of the road. Easy and interesting book to read.
